How come when you SM and delete posts, they're messaged?

If when I ever decide to self moderate and delete a post, know they're just going to get their deleted messages mailed to them, so what is the point? That's why I've never even used the option. Once you think about it, that's like trolling the person that posted the comment and saying "Hi there. I don't like what you said. Just felt the need to tell you that and delete your comment".


You don't have to mail the deleted comment to them, because they usually just make another thread and post it there. With that being said, the tools given aren't usable. When I get my forum, it won't be like that though. There probably won't be any kind of censorship needed, since everyone will be professional.
