Update 11/28/12: Dank has been much more helpful and some due diligence has been conducted and it looks to be what it is being represented as. I will leave this up for 24 hours and at that time I will delete this posting. It is now locked until further notice and this should not reflect negatively on Dank at this time.

While they have not been $1500 items, like this single watch, dank does have a history of good trades. Recently sold a bunch of silver, probably over a thousand dollars worth, and I remember him coming through on some bongs or somesuch.
I understand and I have seen some of these deals. What I am saying is that on "this" deal, it is not being handled properly and has many red flags summarized above. I think what needs to happen is a serial number, better photos (including back of watch picture and manual) need to be provided so we can verify it and look to make an offer. It is ridiculous for many buyers to be told that they can't have that. It is brazen and shows utter dis-contempt for our community especially people who have the means to purchase such a high ticket item.

Fair enough Once these items are provided, I will be deleting my remarks here and on the OP. Public pressure is what is needed right now to get this deal right.

From my spiritual experience last week, I can surely attest that it's really better to let things be than to act like you know everything. If you talk in certainty about what you don't know, you surely won't be right, specially given when the opposing party knows better.
If you don't understand something, don't act like you do. If you don't understand, explicitly, how this could be a replica, then why bother pretending you do?
We all have fears, talking about them will not make them happen when it's in someone else's control. It only reflects the fear in you.
There are people you can and cannot trust. If you cannot trust me that I trust my friend from childhood, then I don't see how you can trust anybody. I'm done with living in a world of isolation where I can't trust anybody, I'm taking the other route of trusting that no human will wrong me unless I do something to cause it.
Better ways to use energy than in fear.

Oh I understand quite correctly here. You can try and talk about irrelevant issues but the facts remain. It only get worse from here. You better sit down with your childhood friend and have a long talk about how you sell a Rolex. Seriously stop it, you just keep discrediting yourself. Even hardcore libertarians don't want to be sold faux goods presented at authentic. I don't think you are stupid, so now we delve into other potential motives.

Can you just wait until I sell it and prove you wrong?
If the buyer doesn't mind being made public or at least providing the serial number so it can be validated, yes then we could. But you can't mask your attitude about all this, maybe you don't see it, but the way you are handling this just supports the thesis that is watch is not authentic. Please prove us wrong, that is done by just selling it to someone that "believes" it is real. We can actually verify that, but you keep dodging the issue and that lends to increasing probability that you are trying to take advantage of someone. Time to proof up Dank. I have already stated I will rescind my statements. No apology though, you don't deserve that because how you handled this high ticket transaction and the numerous legitimate questions brought this on yourself. Just read Exhibit A-G again.

I really, really hope that no one is stupid enough to buy it from you. Not just because I don't want someone to get scammed, but because I would weep for humanity. Is anyone really stupid enough to buy this watch from Dank? Is the human brain capable of such an error? Please, god, don't let it be the case.

I love how we just need to wait to read the post "Rolex was fake, help me get my coins back". It will take about how the user thought we were just broke haters and how he thought [insert OP] was misunderstood. Funny thing was, I actually wanted to purchase it when I first heard about it coming available. I like how low key the model is. F**k I am stupid for asking for basic information.

I don't think a scammer accusation is necessary. There is clearly enough concern in the original thread to cause any buyer to beware.
And until DANK fails to pay a loan or does not complete a trade for no reason then a scammer accusation is premature.
You could also start a "We don't like or trust Dank" Thread. That would probably be more appropriate.
Thanks.

@BCB - I agree. But this thread was not accusing Dank of being a scammer, this deal is what is the problem. Usually when people consider going rogue, there are red flags and with his responses, warranted more attention. Plus, in a thread format, it was a bunch of debating and off-topic responses, that helps hide the real issue.

Genetically we are very much the same, as for character, I don't think so. In your shoes I would of proofed up real quick and put all this speculation to rest. Big difference, if you talk the talk, walk the walk. I don't put things out there that I can be called on and not deliver, and I definitely don't act so cavalier about it.

We can't let buyer beware be the mantra for letting people less informed than others get scam and hurt. It just drives people away, we need more people to talk more positively about Bitcoin. You can't search google about Bitcoin without finding your way here, that is the hard fact.

Here's what I would have done in your shoes: Sold the watch to a local jeweler for cash and bought Bitcoins. If I was completely determined to do the transaction through the forum, I would be like "Hey, I know that it's a sketchy proposition to sell one of the most counterfeited items on the planet with an irreversible, anonymous transaction. Let me go out of my way to prove the watch is real, nominate a trusted escrow for the transaction, and in the process not be a complete dick about it when people are understandably suspicious." If I was on your shoes, I would understand that the burden of proof weighs heavily on me, and do anything and everything I could to reassure buyers that it was a genuine deal. That would include my attitude towards it.

In your shoes I would have taken all the steps necessary to verify that the watch was authentic before listing it for sale. I also would have posted a decent photo of the watch (seriously, it's upside down in the picture for one thing). Losing your phone doesn't excuse the crappy photo you posted when you still had it. As I've already said, I don't think you really care what the watch sells for because it was a gift (or you know it's counterfeit/stolen) - so you're not willing to go to any effort to sell it because it's all profit anyway. You do not need a camera in order to tell people the serial number, though - you've repeatedly ignored requests for that information. Whether you "can't be bothered" or you're with-holding information because you know damned well that you're misrepresenting the watch hardly matters - your own actions have now created a presumption that the watch is fake and the onus is now on you to prove otherwise.

Now we understand why transactions should be done in a certain manner. This is not rocket science, the hard part is finding reputable people to trade with.
