Probably a shit ton. I lost a private key containing half a bitcoin myself.

That's not counting all the "lost" coins from scams, ponzis etc. If you count those, then the figure would be giant.

those coins that went to scammer, are probably dumped, so how in the hell they can be considered lost?

the only lost coin are those that are in any way retrievable anymore

but i still think in the future there will be chances to have them back

Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

How do you think there can be chances in the future to have them back? The only way I see if we invest ways to crack private keys, but if this would become possible than the whole Bitcoin would pretty much become useless!

with an hard fork maybe, that can give you a secondary private key associated with the first private key, something like that, much complex in practical

I don't think we'll ever find out how many are lost exactly. I'm not sure if there is a way to find all these lost coins.

So the lost of coins means more value for the ones who actually have manegeable coins? That is another good motive to just hold. Lots of coins are lost everyday, adding to the value of the coins we own. Grin

a person's problem to raise money is impatient . so they're looking for a quick way to raise money . with an investment scam or gambling
gambling and investment ponzi or a scam it will only eliminate your money

If you are only asking about lost wallets, then I think that there is thousands of lost coins out there. If you include the money people lost on Bitcoin exchange's, then that number would increase to over 10,000.
