Why do people use so many Bitcoin wallets?

Hmm,  I've not noticed.  I will need to wait for some other people to chime in.  Both my wallets do everything I think I could need them to do.

I know right. I only use 2 as well. 1 on my PC and one on my phone, just like you. Thats all I need and I don't see why other people need more than that.

I don't see it that strange to be frank, just think about it:

High mobility/low security: Phone
Accessibility/medium security: Computer wallet
Low accesibility/high security: An encrypted paperwallet

Some people have those 3 options

And some just get a hardware wallet to have high mobility + high security, but I would argue if being able to take your main stack with you is actually secure.. because you can lose it anywhere. In this sense I don't see this as secure, and I would leave the device always at home.

Almost everyone who use many bitcoin wallet want  to make their income organized. Each wallet use to different thing for example one wallet for gambling, other for trading. Or etc.

I don't think most people use many wallet, I only have two wallet, maybe one wallets is enough,
because we can generate a lot of addresses in one wallet

some people maybe split their money in different wallet , for safety maybe because they not wanna lose all bitcoin that they have if saving in 1 wallet

the reason to use multiple wallet, is to lead the anonymity easier, for the darknet users, it would be an advantage to prevent the police from 'stealing' their bitcoin wallet as a fine. lol. for legal multiple use of bitcoin wallet, it is easier to help you to plan "how to spend them properly".

I used two different address

1. Gambling purpose (online wallet)
2. Trading purpose (mycelium client wallet)

I have two wallet with two addresses because I want to know how much I get profit monthly from both source.

I agree with you, i also have 3 different address wallet.

1. For gambling, i have gambling habbit. It's hard to escape from gambling though.
2. For receive bitcoin from signature campaign or something.
3. For Urgent. i use this for something urgently.

better use one wallet and you can use many addresses in it, you can rename the address according to your wishes

I think it is better to use only one address only and some wallets.
Because if you have a lot of wallet in my opinion it is not good and too complicated

This is my standpoint with wallets. I am that kind of person that does not like anything all in one basket. I currently have 4 but the reason for that is some wallets do not support other altcoins like litecoin and dogecoin.  I also feel it is just a bit safer - if something is going wrong with one wallet - which we have seen - then I can quickly transfer to an already established one.  Coinbase is my main man for Bitcoin, feel safest with them.

Maybe youare just using the online wallet too like blockchain which can be use to receive and send. but when you start to use some bitcoin wallet installed on your computer, you'll realize that these wallets actually provide a lot like an address just for receiving payments and after that you will never see that address again. MultibitHD seem to function this way as far as i know.

I  use many wallet because I use different softwares.
On pc I use multibtc,on my android phone I use blockchain.

I only use a few, but I also like to try other ones sometimes like multibit, electrum and armory, just to get a feel for them.

Right now it's just Mycelium and/or Trezor for smaller and larger amounts respectively, and a few exchange wallets if those even count.

only in my mobile i have installed 4 wallet, because i don't like to put all my btc in a sigle wallet, the same for the exchange i use about 3 of them.if you had a problem with a service, you don't lose all

The most people using maybe 2 or more wallets is because for safety is just like having 2 banks.
One is for shopping or something for home and the other is for business and back up for if the bank goes bad.
Is also with the wallet if you got hacked or something at least you the other so you won't lose it all.
