Potential is big. How big? I have no idea. It mostly depends on your communication with the other party.

The fact that you speak Chinese will help you twice more than someone who doesn't speak Chinese.

Not a bad idea to be honest, but not sure if this method is for everyone. You need social engineering skills in order to approach that person. If your social engineering sucks, you have less chances.
Other than that, looks good. Will give it a try sooner or later.
