Hi,

I have two simple questions and I didn't find any answers in the forum yet:

1. If I solo mine where do I see I if I have calculated blocks and if hit the right one (poclbm on Ubuntu 11.04)? I mean under pool mining I got shares and blocks assigend from the pool and I can see something happen.
2. If I'm lucky and got one, how does it work that I get 50 BTC as a compensation? I mean there is no transaction from A to B. In pool mining the pool calculates my share on the calculated block (PPS, Props, ...) and then I can easily transfer the BTCs to my wallet.

Thanks

Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

Your miner should be pointing to your wallet address. If you hit a block, the first transaction will be 50BTC to your wallet address. You can just check your wallet balance to see if you hit one.

OK, but from whom are the 50 BTC coming from?
