of course bitcoin can't replace fiat. because there will be people who don't know use internet, bingo, they're not able to use bitcoin.

Yeah, majority of them are not aware about the bitcoins, so it is difficult to expect that they would start using bitcoins, as they find fiat very easy to use, bitcoin can be bit complicated for them.

It will just take some time for them to realise bitcoin. In a few years, the bitcoin user will increase to 10 million people.

It's probably better that BTC can't/won't replace fiat... if it did, there would be a much stronger push for control over it.

The thing is that in well developed countries as in Europe have a very advanced payment system where the normal people are very happy with. They can buy stuff instantly with their debit card or via internet banking or simply via NFC. These people don't care about the decentral aspect of Bitcoin. Convincing these people to use Bitcoin will be a real challenge.

People are more interested in convenience rather than dramatically changing how something works, including their preferred payment system. Sure, Bitcoin might be good or storing large amounts of value and transferring it, but it isn't as good as a credit card or debit card for rapid payment and stuff like that.

That is very true. But maybe 1 day it will overtake fiat. But we are going to have to wait 100's of years before that.

There is no purpose for bitcoin to replace fiat. Bitcoin targets a different audience. So bitcoiners will use fiat forever.
Because they need it for different purposes.

That's only for now... Sooner or later bitcoin will replace Fiat currencies, and if it isn't bitcoin the one to replace them it will certainly be another crypto that will do that

I agree, however all of the other cryptocurrencies are basically copies of BTC and it's not really that innovative.

I think it is definitely possible for BTC to replace fiat.

Eventually, the bitcoin will replace fiat. If it is not bitcoin, it will be another digital currency. paper notes will disappear.

Maybe it can replace in future, but looking at the present scenario it is really difficult to judge that whether bitcoin can replace fiat or not, as majority of people are still not aware about bitcoins.

Who could tell bitcoin can be worth $ 450? If you go back five years, this was just a dream.
What will happen for another five years is highly speculative and fun predicting.

Bitcoin is created to be used as money, if becomes super popular probably will be regulated and used as alternative currency this is best he can, i think. Calm down, collect as more as you can, and enjoy. Cool

Yeah the ultimate goal is that bitcoin should be widely used and widely accepted, even if it doesn't replace fiat, no big deal, as people who are comfortable with bitcoin, will never use fiat.

Yes it does not matter whether bitcoin will replace fiat currency or not because its not practical to replace fiat currency but once more and more people start using bitcoin then it will become like credit card but the only difference is in bitcoin we will have control over our money and i am comfortable with bitcoin.

Exactly, and even if bitcoin doesn't replace fiat won't make any difference to the users of bitcoin, as we want maximum users of bitcoins and that will give a tough competition to fiat currency.

It can for weaker countries that have higher denominations on a fiat note.

But on a strong fiat like the u.s. for example will take forever to fail, even though we all know the value of the dollar has been dead for awhile now.

Its only like this because its known for its global currency.

Well said with the advancement something can be developed to overcome it but completely replacing fiat with the help of technology growth is not possible even after years.
