I just tried your game out.  I must say it feels good to play.  Very fast and responsive even on my crappy Internet connection.  The keyboard interface is a nice touch; it certainly makes selecting which cards to hold a lot quicker.

I don't have a lot of criticisms, but here's what I came up with:

* I see point 4 of your 5 points is "Games are provably trustworthy" but I'm not seeing anything that proves the games are trustworthy.  Is there somewhere I'm meant to click to 'keep you honest'?

* I had to reload the whole page before my play showed up on the 'recent' tab.  And doing so seems to have cleared the 'my games' tab.

* The competition (bitzino.com and play.luckco.in) both pay out 800 for a min-bet royal flush, whereas you only pay 250.  play.luckco.in encourages 5-chip play by only having the progressive pot available to max bet players.  bitzino seems to be flat-rate - you get 800 times your bet for a royal no matter how much you bet.

The 250-500-750-1000-4000 payout structure for RFs is the norm for Vegas video-poker machines, however.

I don't have a lot of criticisms, but here's what I came up with:

* I see point 4 of your 5 points is "Games are provably trustworthy" but I'm not seeing anything that proves the games are trustworthy.  Is there somewhere I'm meant to click to 'keep you honest'?

Perhaps the link isn't clearly visible.  Complete a poker game and then in the 'My Games' tab, the result of your hand (Nothing/Jacks or Better/Three of a Kind) text is clickable.  That dialog shows all the info for provably fair.  Moreover, you can browse the JavaScript files in the /static/ directory on the website.

Quote
* I had to reload the whole page before my play showed up on the 'recent' tab.  And doing so seems to have cleared the 'my games' tab.

Really?  Sorry about this.  If you had been to the website before it could have been a caching related issue.  Let me know if it happens again.

Edit: Sorry. I misread what you wrote here.  We understand the leaderboards need some work to be more dynamic.  We're working on that now and will update you all when the leaderboards are much improved.

I discuss this with the other programmer here.  We went with the odds from vegas (250 as the min bet RF payout) to encourage 5 bet play.  Once we implement a jackpot perhaps we can give all plays the same odds and keep the jackpot on the 5 bet column, like how play.luckco.in does it.

Thanks.  I didn't think of looking down there.  Those tabs are kind of conceptually on a different page (I have to scroll down to see them).

We're thinking up some ways to make the provably fair stuff more visible.  We want to make sure everyone knows that each and every one of our games are legit.  The data is there, we just need to make sure there's something that says  "here's the proof!" is clearly accessible to anyone that wants it.  Stay tuned:)

In order to be provably fair you need to allow the user to 'cut the deck' in some way.  Otherwise all you're doing is proving that you decided which hand to give the user before they played rather than during.

If you don't take input from the user after providing them with a hash of your secret then you could still be skewing the distribution of hands in your favour.  It needs to be set up such that there's no way you can 'throw away' high value shuffles.

https://techblog.bitzino.com/2012-06-30-provably-fair-shuffling-through-cryptography.html is a good discussion of the topic.

very cool, very well done game.

Extremely nice interface IMO.

currently doing "research"

Smiley

love the look and feel of it, obviously blatant copyright infringement but I doubt OP is worried about that.  This plays / looks / feels very similar to las vegas video poker that I am surrounded by each day.

shout to the double-up feature, some foolish casinos are afraid of that button.

AWESOME!

Very nice!
Not having to register makes if very easy for me to get my co-workers playing... I point them to the site, I bankroll them and they give me cash (I'll cash them out, too.)  If they get lucky, then I get to buy some bitcoin when I cash them out!

Keep it up!

As a matter of fact, the game already does this!  You can check the JavaScript code in the /static/ directory on the site but here's how it works:

  • Before you ever hit the DRAW button, the server picks a random seed for the next game, should you decide to play.  The seed is hashed and the hash is sent to the client.
  • When you hit DRAW, the client also picks a random seed and sends the seed to the server. This is what you called "cutting the deck."
  • The server uses both the server seed and the client seed to form a new game seed.
  • The deck is shuffled using the game seed and the hash of the deck is returned along with the hashed game seed.
  • At the end of the game, the server sends you the original server seed, game seed, and the deck.  The client verifies that the client seed was indeed used in the making of the game seed, that the server seed led to the correct hash provided before the game, and then verifies the game seed led to the deck that was actually used and THEN verifies the proper poker hand evaluation to make sure the prize is legitimate.

If you click on the links in the my games tab, you'll see all this information right there for you.

Yet another update to http://BitcoinVideoPoker.com/ is live!

New Features

  • All new dynamic leaderboards.  You can watch things update in real time as you and others play.
  • "My Games" are never forgotten.  Reloading and returning to play will show your old games.

Improvements

  • The provably fair dialogs has been consolidated into a single location in the My Games tab. We added a verify button so that it's much easier to notice!
  • Twitter and facebook posts include your double down results.
  • Better sound effects.
  • New help dialogs and information.
  • Lots of attention to site load speed and size. Site should load even faster.

Fixes

  • We've done some work to get the site working with Internet Explorer.  All bets are still off, but things seem to be working.  Please report any bugs you find!

Come and visit us:)   We're also talking about more things to implement.  Would people rather see:

  • An autoplay button, where you can just sit back and watch games being played, or
  • an "assistant" that recommends which cards to hold,
  • A progressive Jackpot of some sort?
  • Or any other ideas?

http://BitcoinVideoPoker.com/

Thanks!

Just deposited and played through BTC0.1.

Nice interface.  Basically classic video poker.  My only recommendation to players is that since it is only full-pay at the max bet, don't do anything but that.

A progressive would be nice, as long as the drop isn't sick.  Other variants like double double bonus and deuces wouldn't be bad, either.

Cool, thanks for the comment.  We're in talks right now to figure out what we want to do for progressive jackpots as well implementing other pay tables (deuces wild, etc).  Look for it in the future:)

We've revamped the Chat feature to be more integrated with gameplay.  We think it's crucial to be in that chat room right away!

We also added a like a volume slider.  We've started putting together plans for new pay tables and a progressive jackpot.  Stay tuned:)

For what it's worth, progressive jackpots are DONE! We're in testing phase right now and will be rolling them out in less than a couple weeks.

We also have some more surprises coming, so watch out Cool

1)  awesome.  can't wait to play.   still no royal - I don't play much VP - what is Royal avg?  around 20k hands?

2)  3play / 5/50/100 play would be the nuts of course.  the usual alternate payout structures...

10 play dbl-dbl bonus with all differnet quads progressives 2-A with each being seeded with different amounts, i.e AAAA being the headshot (or 2222) sory if I'm not makign mjuch sense I have been up for ~ 4 days / just had my first kid / beautiful healthy daughter

1) I believe it's approximately every 35k, but that depends entirely on your play style to raise or lower that number

2) Check out the site now -- we have some new payout structures in the 5 new games we just added.

Congrats on the daughter!
