How long will it be before we start seeing selling on this platform? Anyone have any idea?

Reports from the team over at reddit are we will see selling to start early next year.  I had hoped it would be end of this year myself in time for the christmas sales rush but glad its coming soon anyway.

I think i recall hearing on reddit that we are looking at 2016 q1. i think initially it was around xmas time 2015 but obviously theres been some kind of delays. At the end of the day theres no point in releasing it if its not ready, that will only hurt its adoption.

Last time I checked they Open Bazaar team moved release date of their software for Win, Linux and MAC from January of 2016 to March, or something like that.
And I feel that this delay is not the last one we will be seeing.

All the source is here: https://github.com/openbazaar
You could track the development... It should give you a rough estimate on when to expect stuff.

Awesome thanks for sharing the github link. Was hoping for a release before the end of the year as well but would rather have something that is released fully finished and fine tuned.

I think I saw some demo of the gui running in what appeared to be Windows 10. The GUI looks pretty neat and clean, it looks like the steam profile thing, you set it up with a picture and you are buying/selling. Still tho, I saw some comments saying how it was "too complicated." That's pretty silly since it looked really easy.

I imagine it'll be the same developmental trajectory as BTC. I really can't see many people wanting to run some type of client to be able to buy and sell. Lightweight layers and portals will be built on top of it to enable more folks to pile in.

It's gonna start off small but the potential might be amazing. There are sooo many possibilities. I guess some very cool stuff will spring up around it.

They missed a massive marketing opportunity by missing the Christmas buying spree.

Too bad that it has taken so long, but if they manage a successful launch they may still be the next big thing in bitcoin.

I just hope that its going to be simple enough so as not to scare away less tech savvy people. To be as popular as ebay and amazon its going to have to be easy to setup and use.

Nice topic!

Frankly I was wondering if OpenBazaar was real. I tried to use it more than a year ago. I guessed they announced the project, and invite people to join much too earlier. When a project is still a project, it's better to hide everything about it. You only talk about it when there's something to see, to test. People have very high expectations now, after so much time in the making, so they will have o launch something real good and bug-free to avoid any disappointment.

I used to be a citizen and a taxpayer. Those days are long gone.

Yea, I would much rather have them release a bug-free site, than rushing it for Xmas and having huge problems and losing huge amounts of potential customers. I tested it a while

back and I could not figure out what to do... it was too complex for the average user. We need a simple and quick operation, to pull in many customers. Some more feedback and

comments, would be welcome.  Roll Eyes
