You probably remember Jeb Bush. He's the guy whose dad and brother were both president, and who definitely will never be president himself. When Jeb announced his presidency he got made fun of a whole bunch for his campaign's logo. It looks like this:

Can you feel the excitement?! No? Well neither could anyone else. Despite having a famous name, and the party's machinery behind him, and a large number of big money donors, Jeb's campaign has never really left the starting gate in terms of polling. Bush's numbers hover in the mid-single digits while Donald Trump's are comfortably in the high thirties or low forties. So it should come as no surprise that the campaign no longer seems as enthusiastic as the "Jeb!" logo would indicate. In fact, according to Mother Jones enthusiasm for the logo itself has disappeared too.

"As is par for the course, the US Patent and Trademark Office accepted the submission and requested additional information before it would grant the trademark. But according to that office, on November 9 Bush's application was officially abandoned. Technically, Bush has until January 9 to restart the process, but for now the name is not trademarked and open for anyone else to try to grab.

According to the original application, Bush wanted the name reserved for use on leather key chains, stadium cushions, stemware, stuffed toys, hair bands, and other cool stuff. In April, the USPTO asked BHAG to provide, within six months, written consent from Bush himself to use his name. Bush never responded. So the USPTO issued an abandonment notice regarding the trademark request."

So, I guess right now the campaign is less in "Jeb!" mode and more in "Jeb?" mode.

I think you are right, Jeb will never become US President!
In fact, 2 US presidents from one family is really enough, so now is time for presidents from some other US families, not dynasties liker Bush or Clinton.
Maybe, now is time for Trump dynasty Smiley

You got that right, two is most definitely enough and of course in hindsight; two too many. I doubt that more of that crap can ever be scammed on America and the world again.

why does he bother? its throwing money down the drain at this point

Be radical, have principles, be absolute, be that which the bourgeoisie calls an extremist: give yourself without counting or calculating, don't accept what they call ‘the reality of life' and act in such a way that you won't be accepted by that kind of ‘life', never abandon the principle of struggle.

I guess jeb must be stupid. The voters are trying to tell him he is not wanted as president.... Can he not see the writing on the wall... This just goes to show you that if he can not see something as easy as the voters not wanting another established politician named BUSH in the white house...

What about a Democrat campaign with Hillary as the POTUS candidate and Jeb Bush as the vice-president nominee? As far as policies and ideology is concerned, Jeb Bush looks more of a Democrat than a Republican. If he and Hillary presents a joint list, then the RINOs will vote for them, in addition to the ghetto vote bank of Hillary, and they will win comfortably.

So, you want to help this 2 dinosaurs, Clinton and Bush families, 2 modern political dynasties, to survive and continue to rule America in next 4 or 8 years.
After them, I guess Chelsea Clinton should continue and replace her mother in office?
I don't think this is something what America really needs now.

Sad Clown: Desperate Jeb! Demands One-on-One Throwdown with The Donald

Poor former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush.

The poorly performing former GOP frontrunner is now so desperate he’s asking for a one-on-one debate with actual Republican frontrunner billionaire Donald Trump.

“Donald, I’ll take you on one-on-one in a debate, any time, any place,” Bush said of Trump at the Forum Club in Palm Beach, Florida. “You name it and I’ll do it.”

Bush, who’s lagging down in the polls and has been for months, has been replaced by Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL)
—his protege—and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie as the new frontrunners in the establishment lane for the GOP nomination. Trump, meanwhile, has dominated polling GOP-wide for more than five months, and Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)
—who’s leading in the conservative lane for the GOP nomination—is beating not just Bush but Rubio and Christie as well in most polling.

Bush has made efforts to attack Trump a centerpiece of his campaign as of late, using the most recent debate in Las Vegas, Nevada—hosted by CNN, and moderated by Wolf Blitzer—to swipe at Trump, calling the billionaire a “chaos candidate.”

Trump, in response–in an exclusive interview with Breitbart News in the spin room post debate at the Venetian Resort and Casino there–laughed it off and said if he were doing as badly as Bush is doing, he’d be making the same desperate lunges.

“I think he did the right thing,” Trump told Breitbart News. “He’s getting clobbered in the polls. He’s trying to save his campaign. I think he did the right thing. And I would have done the exact same thing.”

Jeb started out as the GOP golden boy, People saw that Jeb had no energy. Jeb tried attacking Donald Trump and was shot down. Jeb tried attacking Marco Rubio on his voting record, and got shot down. People realized, Jeb couldn't handle simple attacks so they left him.

I hate Hillary and Jeb more than anything in this world. And for sure I don't want these two crooks in the office next year. I was hinting at a Donald Trump / Ted Cruz ticket versus Hillary Clinton / Jeb Bush ticket in the POTUS elections of 2016. Let the Americans have a choice. If they want freedom, then they will vote for Trump. Else, they can lick the feet of Hillary.

I guess many will be disappointed if Trump wins but don't get the nomination, but maybe some at last will wake up.
Votes don't count. The words of the owners of the US count more.
Just wait,  it will be Hillary and Bush, and since the last president was democrat, I am pretty sure the next president will be Bush since people want "change"

If Trump wins the Republican primary, then he is going to get the POTUS nomination from the GOP, whether the establishment wing likes it or not. There is no way that the establishment guys can deny him the nomination, if he secures the largest number of delegates. If Jeb Bush is against the nomination of Trump, then let him run as an independent or on a combined ticket with Harpy.

Jeb Bush Drops Guard to Share Family Account of Addiction

HOOKSETT, N.H. — Jeb Bush’s elder son, George P. Bush, is the land commissioner of Texas and is nicknamed “47” — a look ahead to when, many joke, he will become the 47th president.

His younger son, John Ellis Bush Jr., briefly saw his name floated as a contender for a Florida congressional seat.

But Mr. Bush’s daughter, Noelle Bush, has stayed far from the world of politics, in part because of her long struggle with addiction. She faced felony charges that she tried to fill a fraudulent prescription for Xanax when she was 24, and later ended up in jail after she was found with pills and then crack cocaine in her shoe.

On Tuesday, Mr. Bush spoke of how his family dealt with his daughter’s difficulties, which became uncomfortably public when he was governor of Florida.

“What I learned was that the pain that you feel when you have a loved one who has addiction challenges and kind of spirals out of control is something that is shared with a whole lot of people,” he said.

Mr. Bush has said he first checked with his daughter, now 38 and in recovery, before sharing her story, which he did at a forum on heroin addiction.

To knowing murmurs, Mr. Bush spoke about how he will never forget the day his daughter successfully completed the Florida drug court program. “It was an extraordinary event,” he said, addressing more than 100 people — most of them involved in the treatment of substance abuse, and some in recovery themselves — in a ballroom at Southern New Hampshire University.

And he recalled realizing just how many families were dealing with similar challenges — how he would be speaking about education policy or economic development and look out to see “people were looking at me, knowing that I was going through the same thing as a loved one.”

For Mr. Bush, who often resists the soul-baring, emotive demands of modern politics, talking about his daughter’s struggles does not seem to come naturally. He spoke with restraint, though on Monday, he wrote more emotionally about his daughter in a blog post on Medium.

“As a father, I have felt the heartbreak of drug abuse,” Mr. Bush wrote. “I never expected to see my precious daughter in jail. It wasn’t easy, and it became very public when I was governor of Florida, making things even more difficult for Noelle. She went through hell, so did her mom, and so did I.”

Drug addiction and its personal costs have produced many of this campaign season’s most memorable and poignant moments. Not long ago, Gov. Chris Christie of New Jersey told the story of a close friend who fell victim to prescription drug abuse and lost his family, his job and, ultimately, his life. The Huffington Post put a video of the talk online, where it has been watched more than eight million times.

Latest polls send shudders through Republican establishment

01/11/16 08:40 AM

The Iowa caucuses are just three weeks from today, and the latest NBC News/Wall Street Journal/Marist poll, released over the weekend, offers little hope to the Republican establishment, waiting for its presidential nominating race to change. Here are the latest preferences from Hawkeye State Republicans:

1. Ted Cruz: 28%
2. Donald Trump: 24%
3. Marco Rubio: 13%
4. Ben Carson: 11%

The remaining candidates are each at 5% or lower. The results are very similar to the findings from the latest Fox News poll, released late Friday, which found Cruz leading Trump in Iowa, 27% to 23%, followed by Rubio at 15%.

To be sure, conditions can change over the course of three weeks – the GOP candidates will participate in two more debates between now and Feb. 1 – but the polling in Iowa has been fairly steady since early December, and Republican insiders eager to see Cruz and/or Trump falter have reason to feel anxious. Indeed, both major polls show the top two with at least 50% of the vote.

The picture in New Hampshire is noticably different:

1. Donald Trump: 30%
2. Marco Rubio: 14%
3. Chris Christie: 12%
4. Ted Cruz: 10%
5. Jeb Bush: 9%
5. John Kasich: 9%

As with Iowa, the remaining candidates are each at 5% or lower.

There is, however, an important difference between the NBC poll in the Granite State and the Fox News poll conducted over a similar period. The top of the heap looks roughly the same – Trump leads with 33%, followed by Rubio at 15% – but Fox shows Christie way back in sixth place with just 5% support, while NBC has the New Jersey governor in third, just a couple of points out of second.

Which is right? There’s ample reason to believe the Fox poll is undercounting Christie’s backing: if the governor were really struggling that badly, Rubio wouldn’t be quite so eager to attack him.

What’s more, note that the problem for the Republican establishment has been static for quite a while: Trump’s lead in New Hampshire has held steady, while five GOP competitors battle it out for second place, splitting the mainstream Republican vote, making it impossible, at least for now, for any one of them to catch up to the frontrunner.

Another lingering question to keep in mind: Cruz has been treading water in New Hampshire, usually polling in third or fourth place, with support in the low double-digits, but will the Texan get a boost if he wins in Iowa? If recent polling holds up, it wouldn’t take much to bump Cruz up to a second-place showing in the Granite State, which would likely have a major impact on the overall race.

As for the national picture, Fox News’ poll found the Republican field shaping up this way:

1. Donald Trump: 35%
2. Ted Cruz: 20%
3. Marco Rubio: 13%
4. Ben Carson: 10%

Once again, each of the other GOP candidates were at 5% or lower.

Muslim Woman & Jewish Man Booted from Trump Rally for Silent Protest Against Islamophobia
http://www.democracynow.org/2016/1/11/muslim_woman_jewish_man_booted_from

It's a good thing Trump and his supporters aren't Muslims or they would've raped and beheaded them.

Fuck "Islamophobia." It's time to protest Islamoignorance.

Anyway, I think discussion of Trump, Islam, or Islam's idiot apologists are off topic on a thread about Jeb.

Shit, anything the least bit interesting is off topic in a thread about Jeb.

Jeb's number 1! Well, -1.

If Israel is destroyed, I will devote the rest of my life to the extermination of the human species. Any species that goes down this road again less than 100 years after the holocaust needs to be fucking wiped out.

Ilan Halimi: tortured and murdered in France by barbarian Jew haters who'd be very comfortable here at bitcointalk.

Barbara Bush Gives Jeb! an Early Birthday Present: 35 Seconds of Attention

Gabrielle Bluestone

Today 10:10amFiled to: JEB!

“Jeb Bush is my son,” Barbara Bush seems to acknowledge in a 35-second commercial released Friday—and just in time for Jeb’s birthday!

Here is the faint praise Bush was able to muster for Jeb—her son, but only by blood:

Jeb has been a very good father, a wonderful son, a hard worker. His heart is big. When push comes to shove, people are going realize Jeb has real solutions, rather than talking about how popular they are or how great they are. He’s doing it because he sees a huge need and it’s not being filled by anybody. Of all the people running, he seems to be the one who could solve the problems. I think he’ll be a great president.
“Of all the people running,” Barbara Bush allows, for all the world to witness, Jeb “seems” to be the one who could potentially solve the problems. Sounds like someone (Jeb) got their Christmas and birthday gifts combined into one big one this year.

Jeb! Does NOT Want To Talk About His Exclamation Point

Melissa Cronin

Today 4:55pmFiled to: JEB!

“Take a hike, man!” said an irritated Jeb! Bush on Saturday, clearly not ready to talk about the exclamation point (!) that has come to follow him around during his bid for president, like a dark, gloomy cloud!

At a campaign event in Bedford, New Hampshire, Yahoo! News asked the Republican presidential candidate a simple enough question: what gives with the “!”? Jeb! was not happy.

How the tune has changed for Jeb! Just last week in Iowa, he was proud to be an exclamation point!

Videos included...

After Jeb finally drops out, he will probably run over to George W and beat him up and blame him for costing him the election.

I think you are right, Jeb will never become US President!
In fact, 2 US presidents from one family is really enough, so now is time for presidents from some other US families, not dynasties liker Bush or Clinton.
Maybe, now is time for Trump dynasty Smiley

i totally agree with you Smiley we are really sick and tired of dynasties..
