I've spent a few months there. I find find it amazing but deeply foreign.

The religion thing is weird, the gun thing is deranged, the patriotism is bizarre, the ruthless corporatism is a bit too much. I can't wait to go back but it's also a relief to get back to knackered old commie Europe.

The sheer epicness of the land constantly blew my mind. We don't really have full on wilderness. The people I met were all cool. In the UK we get fed so much American culture we probably think we're virtually the same but you have to go there to understand just how different it is.

It's better if you ask a more specific question.
Free speech? Human rights? Better than any other country.
Secularism? No. You have to swear on bible. You can be nonreligious but you suffer from governmental works then.
Democracy? No. There are only 2 parties which always win the elections.
Life? Not harder than other countries. Need more money but have better opportunities.

I've rented quite a few American cars. I rather liked most of them. Build quality wasn't up to much though. I've been to 18 states. All the fatties were hiding from me. It seemed the same as everywhere else. Maybe Texas and Florida will hit the tub of lard motherlode.

You might want to visit some northern european nations to see how bad uk and the us are or rather the huge difference in culture and society.

But i gotta say the nature in the us is incredible but well it is nearly a whole continent.

great country up until the civil war, not such a bad country up until the 60s

Be radical, have principles, be absolute, be that which the bourgeoisie calls an extremist: give yourself without counting or calculating, don't accept what they call ‘the reality of life' and act in such a way that you won't be accepted by that kind of ‘life', never abandon the principle of struggle.

There are so many contradictions. Look at the degree of obesity and the need to drive everywhere in a car (no cycle path, no public transport. Or the fact that there are places nobody can visit without a car, and maybe even old people starved because they could not drive anymore and could not walk to a shop. And how about the effect of college sport on those who are over 25? Where do they do sport? I doubt that Americans are interested what is going on outside their border lines. In the summer school which I organised , now the fourth year, the American students could not understand that we have no competitive sport at the universities, that we hire no coaches, that we have no alumni, that "sport for all" is the big issue.

Great country!
I visited USA a few times and I really enjoyed!
So many special experiences with people, unique places, culture, so many great possibilities for business, learning etc.
USA is really mix of so much different people, nationalities, beliefs, and true example that all people can live together, as one global family.

My opinion about America! lately, has become watered down. It has become corrupted, because of corrupted arrogant greedy leaders.

For the third world citizens, America might seem like a paradise. But not for me. There is no respect for individual privacy there, and the political correctness is going overboard. And worse still, every now and then, they invade some third world nation to bring the "forced regime change". For me, the US is a big arrogant bully who is in need of a good whacking.

If you have US passport you have privileges in the whole world. It's good for citizens.
US is the most imperialist country in the world. They have a finger on every war the world has last 100 years.

What do you think about my country?
It's not yours. USA is a business, it has owners, and you're most certainly not one of them.

Remember Aaron Swartz, a 26 year old computer scientist who died defending the free flow of information.
