I just won this solid silver piece of Garlic for a good price LOL

Wish I knew the story behind this thing. Anyway, going to be making more ingots soon, I got about 5 ounces of .99 to work with so if you want a custom size or purity or anything let me know. Also have professional mold now, can't wait.

You do realise that could be worth far more in that form than in ingot form right? You should probably take it to an appraiser and see what they think of it first.

Then why are you trying to melt something down that clearly looks valuable? O_O Cheesy

I know you are not idiot (idiots don't appreciate Havana Club) but anything as unique and zany as a silver garlic bulb must have some wild story behind it.

antique roadshow that bizarre artifact.  It could be a relic, from the silver age of the Etruscan dynasty or whatever.

Edit:  Clicked the pic and noticed it's ugly.   Suggest melt and make 10 half oz rounds.

Even if it's not an antique the craftsmanship might be worth more than in bar form, it can happen.

Don't melt it! You will need it against vampires.

EDIT: GIS "silver garlic". Apparently they are quite common good luck charms.

It can happen, but if it's not part of a set, it's most likely junk.

Appraisers will talk out their asshole for a fee. The only true test would be to put it on ebay at, say 20% over spot and see if anyone bids. Include in the pictures any identifying stamps (should be near where the smith stampped "Sterling" or "925"). If not, then melt it.

Look it up. I couldn't find it in a web search, but jut do an image search for "Silver Garlic". They were made in the 90s by Crate and Barrel or something. There's more for sale all over the Internet going for spot. I thought the same thing at first though too. Sorry if I sounded rude there. If anybody wants a silver piece of garlic, let me know and I won't melt it. Otherwise it's silver garlic>ingots.

It looks a lot like this which goes for about $177.83. Not exactly much more than the $161.20 at spot and much harder to sell. I say melt it.
