Poll: Record Number of Americans Say Terrorists Are Winning
40% See Terror Winning, Up From 9% in 2011

by Jason Ditz, December 28, 2015

http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2015/images/12/25/terrorpoll.pdf

A newly released CNN/ORC poll shows a record large percentage of Americans believing that, with respect to the global war on terrorism, the terrorists are winning, along with the lowest number yet thinking the US are winning.

The new poll saw 40% thinking terrorists are winning, 18% thinking the US is, and 40% saying no one is winning. This is a sharp split from the last poll, in 2011, which saw 9% believe terrorists are winning, 44% thinking the US is, and 45% saying neither.

Similar polls have been conducted since 2001, and the previous peak for the “terrorists” answer was 23%, in August 2005, immediately after the London Tube bombings. Even then, 34% thought the US was winning.

Other questions in the poll saw the public split 49-49 on the question of sending ground troops to Iraq and Syria, but perhaps even more interestingly, a record large number of Americans, 53%, believing the government can “prevent all major attacks if it works hard enough at it.”

There was no accompanying language suggesting exactly how the government would eliminate terrorism, but previous polls on the same question have tended to have a strong majority of Americans believing that terrorists would “always find a way.”

I wouldn't spend much time caring what Americans think because they're mostly retarded.

Nearly one-fifth of Americans think Obama is a Muslim.

25 percent of Americans don’t believe in Darwin’s theory of evolution while less than 40 percent do.

Nearly 40 percent of Americans still believe the Sarah Palin-supported lie about "death panels" being included in health care reform.

Someone as obviously stupid as Sarah Palin was elected to public office.

As of just a few years ago, about half of Americans still suspected a connection between Saddam Hussein and the attacks of September 11, a lie that was reinforced by none other than Dick Cheney.

A majority of “young Americans” cannot identify Iraq or Afghanistan--the places their peers are fighting and dying--on a map.

Two out of five Americans, despite the whole separation of church and state being a foundation of our democracy thing, think teachers should be able to lead prayer in classrooms.

Many Americans still believe in witchcraft, ESP and other supernatural phenomena.

In a recent poll 20 percent of Americans still believe that the sun revolves around the earth. That's just sad, considering that even the Vatican has let Galileo off the hook for being right.

Only about half of Americans realize that Judaism is the oldest of the three monotheistic religions. They believe Christianity was first.

In 2006 more Americans were able to name two of the “seven dwarves” than two of the Supreme Court justices.

More Americans can identify the Three Stooges than the three branches of government--you know, the ones who are jockeying over our welfare.

Well, I happen to think that this is one more confirmation that garbage media and political sex workers (both of which are owned by the same corporate interests) just aren´t having as much success as before in forming opinions for people.

British terrorists have been winning in America since the early 1800s.

Social Security is a British trust, with the Queen as the beneficiary.

The money we get if we collect SS, comes from the general fund, at the will and whim of Congress, just like all the other money manipulations.

Americans are intellectually stunted parasites living off of the hard work of their forefathers. They're drama fetishists that believe any extreme statement vomited out by the media if it's entertaining enough. The typical lazy fat American over watering his lawn while eating a Big Mac isn't motivated enough to do enough research to discover the truth about anything. Slightly less than 30% of Americans feel compelled to educate themselves beyond the grade school government propaganda machine. That means 70% of all Americans are government programmed imbeciles that believe anything they hear in the media.

If they now believe terrorists are winning some imaginary war being fought against Gods chosen country it's probably because it was written on a placemat included with their kids McDonald's happy meal or inscribed on the bottom lip of an In-N-Out burger drink cup.

You are right. But that is what the Forefathers wanted. It was the way to start a new governmental dictatorship called democracy. Give the stupid Americans what they want until they hang themselves.

Yeah, imaginary as in having cost trillions of dollars, killed and maimed and displaced millions with no end in sight. It probably seems real enough to most sane people with a modicum of brain activity.

Ignore the truth if you like but an average of 195,000 people in the USA died due to potentially preventable, in-hospital medical errors in just 3 years and cost 100 times more in just America than all worldwide terrorist acts have caused in the same three years. Maybe we need a war on medical malpractice. lol

“Zero Confidence”: 8 In 10 Americans Think Obama Is Losing To ISIS

Mac Slavo
December 29th, 2015
SHTFplan.com

Who says the terrorists aren’t winning against our freedoms?

With Obama in office, it may be a certainty.

Nearly 15 years after the 9/11 attacks, the United States is weaker than ever, and it has perhaps dug its own grave engaging in protracted conflicts and wars in the name of hunting down terrorists.

According to a new poll, Americans today see their country as losing the battle against terror despite having the most powerful military in the world.

Apparently only 2 in 10 Americans think the U.S. is winning the war on terror, and see the ISIS Islamic State as holding the upper hand. In terms of public opinion, it may as well be zero.

The hearts and minds have been lost – right here at home.

According to the Daily Mail:

Americans believe more than ever that the terrorists are winning the war on terror.

In a new CNN/ORC poll, just 18 percent of Americans surveyed said the U.S. and its allies were ahead in the terror fight, with 40 percent now saying the terrorists have the upper hand.

The numbers are almost completely flopped from when the question was first asked, just one month after the 9/11 terror attacks.

Then, 42 percent said the U.S. was winning the war on terror, while 11 percent said the terrorists were dominating the fight.

Those numbers have bobbed up and down through the years, but this latest poll showed the most dramatic spike in public opinion, as Americans have grown increasingly concerned about ISIS in light of the attacks in San Bernardino, California and Paris, France.

If the poll numbers truly reflect the pulse of the nation, it indicates that a full three-fourths of the country believe Obama is failing, and that the American fight against terrorism – now well into its second decade – is all but doomed.

‘Zero Confidence’

Of course, the strategy (or lack thereof) to combat ISIS and deal with the Syrian crisis has many Americans expressing “zero confidence” in President Obama – enough that the ORC polling people found a major spike and shift in public opinion:

Now the largest chunk of Americans says they’re not at all satisfied with the way things are going as the country deals with this threat.

… 64 percent said they disapproved of Obama’s handling of ISIS, a number which has remained constant for the past six months.

The spike comes from those who say they have zero confidence in the current White House, with 30 percent now giving that response, up from the 16 percent who said it in 2010.

President Obama has long been a polarizing figure, but a significant “zero confidence” number is a pretty harsh rebuke, and a sure sign that policy is headed for a major shift under the next president, regardless of party.

As a result of the failures to stop the spread of ISIS in the contentious areas of Iraq and Syria, many Americans have in turn supported the knee jerk reaction to send in U.S. ground troops and engage in yet another war in the Middle East.

There is more war in the air, and the weakness of the current president has done much to contribute to that climate.

Right now, the United States is not engaged in a war with the ISIS. So they are neither winning, nor losing. It is the Syrian regime forces, Russians, Kurds (PKK / YPG / Yazidis), Hezbollah, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), and the Shiite militias which are fighting the ISIS. The Americans don't have any role here.

If the terrorists changed our way of living, they are winning. It cost us billions of dollars when we spend time going through all sorts of securities. That is a waste of money, which can be used effectively to improve our lives.

That's my point also. Americans have almost no terrorism problem aside from some school kid bringing his fathers gun to school and shooting up the place but they obsess over it constantly. I have an Israeli friend that was an exchange student but stayed in America after he graduated. Israelis live under the constant real threat of terrorism and he claims that its almost never discussed in casual conversation like it is in America. As far as I'm concerned the terrorists won the war in America a long time ago. I'm reminded of their victory every time I try to fly across the country and need to get to the airport an hour or two early so I can be molested by a high school dropout wearing a TSA uniform.

It's always been funny to me that Americans are afraid of turban wearing middle eastern men when the real bad terrorism in America is being performed by former US military white American boys like Timothy McVeigh.

It is extremely difficult for potential foreign terrorists to immigrate to the United States. Crossing the Atlantic in a rubber dinghy is not as easy as crossing the Mediterranean. Also, the immigration rules are somewhat strict in the US, when compared to the Western European nations. Europe is more susceptible to attacks by these turban wearing middle eastern men.

What I find the funniest is how people in this country (I'm from USA) don't know shit about the middle east, yet they're obsessed about 'turrism'. 90% of Americans couldn't even point out Damascus or Tehran on a map.

Everyone screams 'fuck yeah let's bomb ISIS in Syria!' as the US targets Syrian military infrastructure, gives TOW missiles to Harakat Hazzm & other groups (that aren't exactly ISIS) to destroy Syrian armor; the Russians bomb those not exactly ISIS groups and aid the Syrian military with intelligence & equipment.

Meanwhile, ISIS fuck around in the barren desert out in Deir Ez-zor...that city actually has a crazy battle going on last time I checked.

It's a shit show over there  yet people think it's a black and white issue

They rely on "experts" on TV with 30-second "analysis" of very complex issues so yes, their view is going to be black and white. It´s what you´d expect.

A few days ago, the American jets bombed the regime forces which were engaged in a fierce battle against the ISIS. A few regime soldiers were killed, and dozens were injured. Aided by the American strikes, the Islamic State captured one of the districts of Deir ez-Zor.

https://www.rt.com/news/324940-syrian-army-coalition-strike/

This is worrying, because Deir ez-Zor is a pocket of regime controlled territory surrounded by the ISIS on all the four directions. Tens of thousands of minority Christians have taken refuge there, and if the city falls then the Caliphate barbarians will massacre all of them.

The killings of Foley and Sotloff happened after the U.S. military began airstrikes against ISIS positions in Iraq to help Kurdish and Iraqi forces beat back the militants.

Quote
In the 1980s, under President Ronald Reagan, the US (with funding from Saudi Arabia) trained thousands of Islamic extremists to fight against the Soviet Union in Afghanistan. The result was Al Qaeda, whose actions ultimately prompted President George W. Bush’s invasion of Afghanistan and provided a pretext for invading Iraq.

As then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton admitted in 2010, “We trained them, we equipped them, we funded them, including somebody named Osama bin Laden….And it didn’t work out so well for us.”

So we caused the problem by being Team America World Police and now we're pissed because they're fighting back. That's great.

Quote
France, too, has distributed aid to Syrian rebels, and it recently began launching airstrikes against the Islamic State. And that is precisely why France was targeted.

According to witnesses, the attackers at Paris’s Bataclan concert hall – where most of the night’s victims were killed – declared that their actions were President François Hollande’s fault.

And after Hollande succeeded Sarkozy in 2012, France emerged as one of the world’s most interventionist countries, undertaking military operations in the Central African Republic, the Ivory Coast, Mali, the Sahel, and Somalia before launching its airstrikes in Syria.

The lesson here is, stop meddling in the affairs of other nations. Is it as simple as Muslems vs Christians? I wonder if the entire Middle East were devoid of petroleum reserves how much we would care if they bombed each other out of existance? We supposedly "cared" about the poor Vietnamese not being able to eat a Big Mac in a god fearin democracy but we dropped that like a hot potato. It seems that we no longer "care" so deeply about Vietnam. Will we continue to "care" about the poor Muslem nations when the oil runs out?

I gather ISIL has a significant holding in the shares of US arms manufacturers. It is unlikely that terrorists can be eradicated whist the US (and some of the EU) supports them financially, and supports their trade and investments.
