I have decided to take matters into my own hands considering so few have shed light on this topic. Before I start I would like to say that Cryptsy used to be my favorite exchange, in fact I've been using it for two years without issues. However almost two weeks ago I tried to make a BTC withdraw, the withdraw was only .6 (so not very big) and it didn't go through. I waited a day before contacting support at which I left a ticket and they promptly responded with:
I figured I would sit and wait it out.... 9 days passed and I never saw anything. Not on Cryptsy and not on the blockchain. So I made a ticket asking to cancel my withdraw, they immediately responded with:
I did alot of searching around on BTT for a new exchange and decided I wanted to use Poloniex instead of Cryptsy. My second choice was Bittrex, but Poloniex is what I chose. Anyways, my solution.... I purchased a bunch of Monero coins (XRM) and withdrew them directly to my Poloniex account. The withdraw was instant and I had control of my bitcoins again. The sad thing is, Cryptsy is still accepting withdraws on all currencies. I strongly believe they shouldn't until this problem is resolved. But that's why I'm creating this post, to both warn new traders and to help out the existing. I hope my experience can help let people know about what's going on here. I smell another MT.GOX but just like trading, it's pure speculation. Happy holidays everyone!
