Bitpay no longer solely uses the mtgox rate for exchanges.  Their rate is here: https://bitpay.com/bitcoin-exchange-rates

Try your calc again at 102.5USD/BTC

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

Good to know, thanks.  Do you know what the "three exchanges" are?  Is Mt.Gox one of them?

I would assume mtgox, btc-e, and bitstamp, as those are the largest three USD exchanges.

I was looking for a post about how mtgox is not used due to USD issues currently so bnitpay removed them in favor of a different pricing algo. Can't seem to find it now.

Given that you can't withdraw USD at mtgox, yeah, I'd expect their exchange rates to be a bit messed up.  Lots of buying btc, no selling.

Right now we only have 100 oz silver bars, and no, the bars are a mix of our choice. The Johnson Matthey bars are extremely delayed currently.

Thanks

I would like to point out that you do not have the best prices.  Roll Eyes Agora Commodities https://agoracommodities.com is cheaper and they seem to have a better selection too.

Got my 2nd order last Friday, happy with the packaging and shipment time (once delayed inventory became in stock)
Also happy to be buying from a brick and mortar store and not just a drop-shipper Smiley

I'm pretty sure all of our prices are cheaper when you factor in shipping, especially for one ounce silver.

I never said Agora makes it difficult. If anything they're easier. They don't have products such as 1 gram of silver, aimed at less savvy shoppers.

Funny. APMEX sells 1 gram silver items. I think it 1 gram silver is important for silver diversification.

As of right now the most north we go is Cheyenne, WY. We are expanding coin show operations in the region, but I think it might be a while until we get to any of those states!
