In the not too distance future for many it will be time to sell their gear.

In about 4-5 months or so, winter will be over, many usually sell their gear then.

In 7 months, it will be the halving many will have to sell their gear then.

Any month now there could be a new efficieint miner like the Bitfury 0.05W/GHS, so many will upgrade to that and sell their gear.

For me, I will probably sell most of my gear in the Spring and before the Summer halving and keep my coins and get out of mining altogether since the profits aren't what they used to be.

The chance of Bitfury dealing with home/hobby miners is very unlikely.  I would guess there will be a next gen Bitmain or Avalon, even Innosilicon A3 hopefully some time.   But I think we will be limited not all company's mess with smaller sales.

I think Bitfury will still be using .05 gear even in 6 month's if they truly have it going with that and low electricity cost's no doubt.   I doubt they have to change much it is other company's that likely need to catch up to them at this point it looks like.

Best time to sell is right now, halving is coming, winter is almost over and 16nm chip is coming to market.

half of the time required you to roi is the correct time frame, because it mean that you can reach roi, with simply reselling it plus have some profit on top of that

i'm sure you can still sell 1 s7 for about the same price you bought it today, those who bought it 2-3+ months ago, are a bit screwed, but they are also near their roi

The ones with month's ago bought the model with more chips and efficiency, so they will be able to sell for more.  But you are right it is not to the extent of price dropping I dont think.  And the ones that bought at 230's really kinda are stuck and ROI will be hard if going by BTC and not USD.

But selling is good no matter if it's a few months after or 6 month's.  Either way you get extra cash you would not if you sit it on a shelf to collect dust.  I suggest everyone sell vs setting on shelf as a collectors item or memento.

I have a batch 2 s-7  but I was able to relocate it to my firends office and he has a new sublet.

translation:   I get 2.66 cents a kwatt so I will simply run it under clocked at freq 500  doing 4000gh  at 1000 watts.

The slow speed is for noise since it is at an office.  Second benefit is it will keep working at the under clock.

I won't sell it until Dec next year.

The avalon sixes I may sell in april or may.
