I'm going for $5000, it will probably go higher but have a correction back down to $5000 by January 1, 2017. I'm probably being too bearish though, and one of the higher guesses will be right.

$5k is too high to expect and I don't think that is possible to achieve in such a short span of time, if price crosses $1k at halving then we can expect something around $1500 by January.

It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

This is impossible since the pump of bitcoins price is just a manipulation made by chinese, and it is not a natural growth, so $5000 is unachievable.

Yeah that value is not achievable very easily, so we  need to keep in mind realistic value that can be achieved and I think price will be around $1500 at the beginning of the year.

4 digits price will be achieved at the time of halving and if it does then I think we may see the price of $1500 at the beginning of the January.

I predict $900. This is because I believe people will dump at the halving and also that the limited supply will only cause for it to rise after people are done dumping for profits.

what is your prediction for the price at the end of 2016?

While I think the price could swing all over the place, I predict a price of $750 on January 1, 2017.
The price in the beginning of 2017 is going to be somewhere around $800. It is not sure that the price will be around that because everything can happen with the Bitcoin price.

I am making the prediction that in a year from now, in January 2017, the price of Bitcoin will have surpassed $1,000 and will probably be in between $1,100 and $1,200.

several possibilities can happen, really hard to predict what will happen after halving. if it's really a big dump, maybe we will not reach $1,000. but if it continues to rise, the end of the year we can reach $1,000. I saw the movement today continues to increase and nearly touched $750: o

Right prediction, I will second you. As of now it is hanging around 690 to 740$. By January 2017, I am expecting $1500+ as new life time prices will get new investors start buying more bitcoins their own speculations.

This could be a good prediction a few days. ago. But for now, we need to reduce the price range by 60 dollars.

2012 Halvening
At halving, the price for a bitcoin was approximately $12.25, which meant that miners received approximately $612.50 per sealed block. By February 2013, the price had actually increased to approximately $30. Miners had lost half of their bitcoin subsidy, but the price had increased enough to more than offset this. By April 2013, the price had increased to approximately $181.

$180 / 12 = 15

5 months after the first halvening the price rose 15x from $12 to $180.

With the expected 2nd halvening taking place on July 9th 2016, 5 months would put us squarely into the last few weeks of the year.

Even with a VERY conservative estimate of a 2x - 3x gain, this would put us somewhere in the ball park of:

$1400 - $2100 range by January 1st 2017

Thoughts?

I don't think so that the value of btc will reach 1100$, the value of btc will be less than 1000$ in the end of 2016...
