Tuesday morning feel good stories

Jonn Lilyea | January 5, 2016

The police have had better luck shooting bad guys than citizens this week. Either that or the media quit reporting on citizens taking out criminals for some reason.

In Jacksonville, Florida, 16-year-old Dominion Bradshaw decided to rob a Jimmy John’s restaurant. he was spotted by an off-duty police officer who just arrived at his home. This is the best quote from a police officer that I ever read; “He’s watching this subject put this mask on – That’s a clue to us policemen that something’s about to happen.” Well, Bradshaw robbed the restaurant and tried to get away – when police saw him returning to his car they shouted for him to stop and he wouldn’t and he kept his hands in his waist band so the police shot his ass and took him to the hospital where he’s in stable but serious condition.

Police in Charlotte, North Carolina, serving an arrest were confronted by a number of people who shot at the police, the police returned fire making one of them DRT (dead right there).

In Abelene, Texas, a woman called police about a fellow outside her home with a gun and on some sort of drugs. When police arrived, the fellow opened fire on the police – that didn’t end well for him; they shot him in his “process” whatever that is, but it wasn’t life-threatening so now he’s being held on a $500 thousand bail.

Wednesday feel good stories

Jonn Lilyea | January 6, 2016

A homeowner in Las Vegas, Nevada greeted an intruder at his point of entry, but he escaped so police are not aware of any injuries.

Kevin sends us a story that happened in Dallas, Texas, where a car wash owner came to the rescue of a customer who was being robbed by three other men. When the men turned their guns on the owner, he gave them a full blast from his shot gun. There’s no word of injuries.

In Hamilton Township, Ohio, a judge sentenced a teen to 2-4 years in a Juvenile detention facility. The youngster was shot in the abdomen by a homeowner when the teen tried to rape the homeowner’s wife.

In Little Rock, Arkansas, both the suspect and victim were hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries after an encounter.

In Columbus, Ohio, Juwaun Pitts and Brandon Pollard tried to break into a home, but the homeowner resisted with some gunfire. Pollard was DRT (dead right there) after the encounter and now Pitts is facing murder charges.

In Stewartville, Minnesota, a homeowner confronted a burglar in his home with his gun. The burglar exclaimed “Oh!” and scurried out the door.

Gun Store Owner Expects Gun Sales To Shoot Up After Obama’s Speech

A north Texas gun seller is praising the presidents speech, not because of the message… but because of what it will do to his bottom line.

Adam McGuffy is a manager at Mister Guns in Plano and says President Obama has always been good for business.

“Obama is the best gun salesman since Samuel Colt. Every time he opens his mouth and tries to limit gun purchase, it has the complete opposite effect.”

He says many get worried about more restrictions and flock to his and other gun stores to stock up.

“The last time he made a speech after the San Bernardino incident, our sales that day had doubled.”

He says it’s not just gun owners buying more guns, but first time buyers, trying to get one or more ahead of possible new laws.

About 33,000 die by guns in the U.S., about the same number as in car accidents.

Homicides account for about a third, the rest is suicides, accidents and other.

I guess many times more are injured, some seriously, others less so.

It´s a pretty high number but you have a huge number of firearms in circulation and very widespread so viewed in that light I don´t really see it as an overwhelming crisis. In any event it´s obvious that only a tiny minority of the population uses guns for unlawful and harmful purposes. So, the objective should be to weed out those individuals and make it harder for others that have no business or mental capacity to have guns,

to join that small minority.

Well, guns are extremely dangerous of course and need to be handled very carefully and responsibly. Idiots will always manage to shoot themselves in the foot especially if trained by other idiots.

The murder rate has dropped by 15-20% during Obama´s reign, in spite of those ballooning gun sales (or maybe because of that?) so that´s definitely nothing to cry about.

The police are killing too many black people with guns. Why can't Obama realise this?

Bad cops should be out of the force, or sent to jail, same with bad dentists or bad lawyers

What about blacks killing blacks?

ATF: Gun Production More Than Doubled Since Obama Took Office

by AWR HAWKINS7 Mar 2016

The production of guns has more than doubled since President Barack Obama’s inauguration in 2009, amid his frequent demands for more gun-control and fewer guns.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) has released its annual Firearms Manufacturing and Export Report, which shows that nine million firearms were built and sold in 2014, that’s up from 4.3 million firearms in 2008.

The March 7 report covers production figures from 2014, and shows that 3,633,454 pistols, 744,047 revolvers, 3,379,549 rifles, 935,411 shotguns, and 358,165 miscellaneous firearms were manufactured that year. That adds up to a total of 9,050,626 firearms.

And the 2014 figures, as high as they appear, were down slightly from the 2013 manufacturing total of 10,844,792.

To really grasp how great a surge the figures from 2014 and 2013 represent, consider the ATF’s report for 2008, when a total of 4,298,187 firearms were manufactured.

Or the figures from 2007, when a total of 3,922,613 guns were manufactured.

There is simply no comparison between the two pre-Obama years and what are the last two years of record for gun manufacturing during Obama’s second term.

Breitbart News previously reported that this surge was being fed in late 2015 via the huge growth in demand for guns.

According to CNN Money, Smith & Wesson’s sales for the quarter ending January 31, 2016, were up “61.5%” over the where they were at the end of the same quarter a year before. More broadly, on Black Friday 2015 the FBI conducted 185,345 background checks, not only breaking the previous record for background checks on a given Black Friday but also breaking the single-day record for background checks, period.

And on March 2 Breitbart News reported FBI figures showing that February 2016 was the tenth straight month of record background checks.

So firearm manufacturing continues to surge, but it does so because demand is through the roof.

When compares to other death causses, motor accidents is slightly more.
Heart disease, cancer and diabetes are the biggest killers in the US.

I have heard that when a democrat is in office (presidency), gun sales increase because of the fear that they will take away guns.  It's kind of ironic that it works that way.
