Looks like miners don't want to sell coins or keep prices high and wait better times.

I'm trying to sell but my hash rate is really low. Can you give examples of CPUs VS hash rate?

I want sell HODLCOIN wallet have 18k HODL at 04/2018 =)).. who can buy? price is 500k satoshies (0.005 BTC)

I recommend that no one buy these.  Even if the money is transferred in escrow to verify that the wallet is delivered, there's no way to verify that he won't keep a copy of the file and send them to some other wallet the instant they mature.

yeah you must be really stupid to buy a wallet.dat that is locked until april 2018.
All you buy is a copy that remains in control of that guy.
DO NOT BUY +1

There are 'special' specialist specialists who will perform special services for payment on coins in exchanges.  Pumping is definitely not included, that would be wrong.  Probably not legal either.  Definitely not pumping.  Nope. Nup.

LOL! I actually meant how do we get people to be genuinely interested enough in this coin that more people want to buy it. Because pumping is bad. And wrong. And probably illegal.

Sorry to say, but as a C++ programmer and an English major, one has to make instructions very clear.  I know it's a buzz to say the minimum and have to figure it out.  It's kind of a macho thing, like a James Bond movie.  But I don't think that's going to help the price.  I'm not blaming this coin/dev,it's just the general culture.

I also tried to send coins to the wallet, they didn't go through and came back, and I mentioned it in the thread and it was ignored.   If the dev is too busy, then the team of hodlers should pick up for their own profit.

Is this still CPU friendly in the 2017?

And where is the JSON-RPC documentation for the wallet??

Also, if you REALLY want its value to go up, you better create useful services that accept that coin.
I don't know.. a hosting service, an auction site, cloud storage, advertising services,  whatever

But if you don't document the JSON-RPC API it's hard for a business to support this coin...

Hi all,

I updated hodlcoin wallet to 3.0.1 two days ago and now I'm stuck with the message "No block source available". Anyone able to help kick this back into action? I'm not sure if there's any information that'll be needed, but just ask if there is.

TIA

You have to add the nodes. See a couple pages back. I don't think wallets have to be downloadable without updated nodes if it's gone on too long.  Maybe the dev can upload a new one.

I agree entirely.  I was the person who volunteered and produced the original HODL website for that reason, it's 'evolved' since the original publication (I haven't been involved for a long time) which is ok, good and proper, but the team and community should pick up where their skills allow.  So far this coin seems to have been a concept in two parts: 1. Adding interest to term deposits in order to engender the longevity of the coin and 2: Introducing a voting system based on those who hold the most coins having the greatest say.  These experiments look like they have worked, but without any real-world or value-added services, experimentation and proving concepts will be all that this coin does.

I tried using this method which I found on page 213:

It shouldn't be necessary but here is one option:

Go to http://www.fuzzbawls.pw/explore/HOdlcoin/network.php
Now scroll down on the left side and find /HOdlcoin:3.0.0/ and then click the Nodes button
A window will pop up listing a bunch of node IP addresses and you can record them

Now go to your HOdl coin wallet
At the top click on Help and then click on Debug Window
You get a new popup and click on the Console tab

When the Console opens enter the command shown below:
addnode 1.124.48.250 add

Repeat the process to add additional nodes as desired

Good Luck!

But I get the message:

Method not found (code -32601)

EDIT: I used the /HOdlcoin:3.0.1/ as I'm using that version.

It's not looking good...

1) Reddit is dead.

2) Twitter is dead.

3) Total buy orders are 0.04287427 BTC.

4) 24h volume is $26.

5) Are developers dead? Will HOdle be one of those "previously created experimental coins"? https://medium.com/@freetrade68/announcing-bcash-8b938329eaeb

Who is behind Bcash?
I’m the cryptocoin developer FreeTrade. I worked on launching ProtoShares (the ledger was later used to seed BitShares), MemoryCoin (now defunct, but first coin to have voting and pay developers from the blockchain, and offer AES-NI GPU/ASIC resistance), HOdlcoin (first coin to pay interest on every balance and offer term deposits).

So Bcash is FreeTrade's fifth cryptocurrency.

It's Panama City https://www.whois.com/whois/hodlcoin.com . MEMORYCOIN.ORG DNS name which is used in registration has expired.

I put in the command the way you said (I was copying straight from the site which had an equals sign on it. Doh!), and I added some other nodes, but it's still not updating. Now 5 days behind.

It is pity that the coin has no real support anymore. I saw it past year and liked the concept of earning deposits by locking the funds and its mining type, everything based on blockchain and decentralized.
