It's a brand new algo.. We haven't settled on a name for it.. Details on it are in the OP..

Pattern Search is an evolution of the ProtoShares Momentum PoW, first used in MemoryCoin and later modified for use in CryptoNight(Monero,Bytecoin), Ethash(Ethereum).  CPU/GPU friendly.

Yes, it is mineable, but right now there is no stand-alone miner nor is there a pool, so the only option is solo mining directly from the wallet/daemon.

Yes, it is mineable, but right now there is no stand-alone miner nor is there a pool, so the only option is solo mining directly from the wallet/daemon.

Well there is not a set number of blocks per day based on CPU models.. So if you would like to try mining follow this guide for Windows..

Ok good to know.. Thank you for trying another rig.. So we know as of right now the wallet is not working properly on 15.10.. We will look in to this.. For the mean time 14.04 works just fine.. I'm not sure that will help you.. as i sure these are main rigs and you would rather keep them on 15.10

I spooled up an Ubuntu 15.10 instance today to test this myself. Nothing fancy going on, even using the distro-provided BDB. Daemon compiles fine (using the --with-incompatible-bdb) config flag and has been running all day.

well actually I'd like to upgrade all my machines to 16.04 as soon as it's available, 'cause it's an LTS.
From my experience, the issue is usually about boost. If I had some more free time, I could try compiling against an older version of libboost. Or db 4.8.

I tried rebuilding from scratch, running the daemon with gen=0, no way.
It crashes without any hint. Not even segfault.
