I would also like to add to the release notes that there is now a new flag called sorthodlings
that will allow you to disable sorting reverting back to the original 2.0 behavior.
Just add -sorthodlings=0 if you want to disable sorting.

It should not be necessary as the sort algorithm has been improved, so far I have not heard new
complaints about it.

Hi there,

I just started with HOdlcoin on 06-11-2017. And I wondered about some things.

I installed the 3.0.0 on 3 PCs and got some weird things.
i7-5930k with aprox. 480 H/s mined about 30k coins in about 3 days
i5-6500 with aprox. 260 H/s mined 100 coins in 3 days and
the i5-3317u Ultrabook with aprox. 85 H/s mined 20k coins in 3 day.
No transfer from any computer to the other worked. Coins just disappear.

Could this be related to the bug in 3.0.0 or is this a problem with the hardfork.
Does my PCs really minded 50k coins in about 3 days. I dont think so.

And now after updated all PCs to 3.0.1. nearly all coins are gone.
Just about 600 left at all.

I´m new to mining and I can´t explain it to myself what happened here.

Can someone light me up.

doubted... Hodlcoin 3.0.0 on OSX ...showed now for 4 days "no blocksource available" ... 4 active connections to hodlcoin network ...

Try adding nodes from the debug console. You can get a list of active nodes from fuzzbawl's blockchain explorer.  Btw, what block is your wallet at?

This latest Version 3.0.1 is actually a mandatory as if this was a hard fork right? Version 3.0 should continue to run and both 3.0 and 3.0.1 are both on the same current blockchain right?

Last question, we should be able to upgrade from v3.0 to v3.0.1 and not have to worry about replacing, resynching or messing with the blockchain we already have loaded right?

Thanks for the advice I just want to have a handle on things prior to doing the v3.0.1 wallet upgrade.

I just ran into a dilemma and hope I can find some good advice.

At github for version 3.01 there are two Windows 64 bit options as in hodlcoin-3.0.1-win64-setup-unsigned.exe and hodlcoin-3.0.1-win64.zip

I downloaded hodlcoin-3.0.1-win64.zip and unzipped it only to realize there is no .exe install file in there for HOdl.

I then downloaded hodlcoin-3.0.1-win64-setup-unsigned.exe which does happen to be an .exe that installed version 3.0.1. Problem is my hash rate is cut in half and back to where it was in version 2.0. I setup the hodl.conf file with the optimization flags and then checked the debug log and everything is ok and yet still 1/2 half the hash rate.

It is as if the hodlcoin-3.0.1-win64-setup-unsigned.exe does not have the optimizations included and the hodlcoin-3.0.1-win64.zip has no .exe install file.

Am I missing something here and if not I'll be going back to V3.0 so I don't lose 1/2 my hashrate and I'll patiently wait for a 64 bit windows install .exe....

EDIT: Okay what I determined is that if you add optimineraes=1 and/or optimineravx2=1 to the hodl.conf file and then check the debug log it says it's reading the .conf file but then it goes ahead and ignores both the commands. I then tried adding these as parameters to the icon shortcut as in -optimineraes=1 and -optimineravx2=1 and now the debug log shows the commands are working properly.

No biggie but on V3 windows 64 bit if you want to get the full optimization and it doesn't work from the .conf file just add it to the path and you should be good to go

disasterfaster it's not called hodl.conf but hodlcoin.conf and it needs to be in same folder as your wallet.dat
those flags work just fine for me from the configuration file.

not all cpu's have implemented the full instructionset, example intel avoton c2xx series did not
implement all the cpu instructions.

Thanks for the new release.

Have now 3.0.1 running for about halve a day. Have made addnode for a lot of the 3.0.1 IPs. When I started it there where three 3.0.0 peers. One or two hours later two addintional 3.0.1 peers which had no newer blocks. Now I am back to only three 3.0.0 peers and still no newer blocks. Will let it run. Hopefully it will catch up.

I'm having some minor issues with mining on Windows 10 64.
Regardless of the number of mining threads set (genproclimit), the miner takes all cores (4 in my case)
hodlcoin-qt reports Miners:1, Threads:1. I have not changed any mem settings.
To make matters worse this affects ethereum mining on GPU as 100% CPU load affects the GPU load.
I tried setting the priority of the HOdl miner to low, but no dice.
Also, the avx2 option crashes the app from time to time (I have gen 4 core i5, which supports it)
Anybody experiencing similar issues? Any solutions ?
