Actually, in the beginning they were paid directly to their wallets.
The rule forcing users to create a ponzi account, deposit coins there, and then being paid to said account only came up recently.

Either way, you shouldn't support this ponzi by running advertisement for it.

Once many people are coming in to invest they will still pay posters or promoter but once they have many investors promoting their program they will stop the campaign,they will just focused on paying those investors who had gotten a lot of referrals ,and there will come a time they will do selective payment until the day they are not paying anymore
