Looks like there are still some folks staking on the old chain. I wonder how long the old chain will survive. Are there any ill effects for the new chain byway of people staking on the old chain? such as the "nothing-at-stake" conundrum & long range attacks on Proof-of-Stake?

I feel pretty confident that those vectors are not viable, because it appears that while there are old nodes that have not updated, the stake weight of the new fork is nearly as high as it was before the fork. This means, that the majority of the staking wallets have updated. The new wallets will also reject connections from the old wallets, further reducing the risk of any monkey business.  As always, nothing is ever 100%, but at this point I am not concerned.

looks good.
does having 1440 transactions with extra data (for the payours after a high fee tx) save much in terms of bloat?

The fees are being distributed in the actual block reward, so we are eliminating the need for separate transactions. It totally eliminates the need for extra transactions, which are required in the current system. It will be a change to the actual block reward code in the wallet.

I am happy to report that the hard fork is a success. All is working well, and fees are being spread over 1440 blocks.
the hardfork will change the name of this coin? swap ? or only new wallet at new block ?

The purpose of this hard fork was to eliminate the Radon system, reduce inflation, and spread fees among all stakers.

These two blog posts should explain it quite well:

I've re-compiled the new wallet but it keeps getting:

************************
EXCEPTION: St13runtime_error
CDB : Error -30974, can't open database
radium in ProcessMessages()

even when I've deleted the old chain and peers database tx etc...

any ideas? it happens after it's loaded 15-30k blocks....

Yes, the network forked yesterday. The wallet to use is 1.4.3, https://github.com/ProjectRadium/Radium

This is the first time I have seen this error. Assuming you have clean source your building from, I am not sure what the issue could be. Can you tell me steps to reproduce?
Also, there is a bootstrap here, if you want to try that. https://github.com/JJ12880/Rapid_Deploy/releases/download/606975/bootstrap.zip

What block is 1.4.3 supposed to be at? 612450 sound about right?

Couple other chains around with higher block counts.

Couple other chains around with higher block counts.

The block explorer is on the right chain, so based off of that, the current best height is 623712.

http://imgur.com/mwL3D3G I am updated to 1.4.3. unlocked and supposedly staking.

Re-sync your wallet and you should be good. To force a resync, delete the blk0001.dat file, and the txlvldb and database folders in %appdata%.

There is a bootstrap available here: To use the bootstrap, download the file, extract it, and place bootstrap.dat in the same folder as your wallet.dat.

Hi guys,

i am new here so please bare with me for a second. On april a bought same RADS (one transaction), store them in my wallet and began staking. Everything was doing just fine until yesterday i tried to update wallet to 1.4.3. The wallet would not sync any more so i deleted blockchain and try to sync again. Now wallet is syncronised but i only have few coins in my wallet - probably just the ones from staking but the tansaction from april is missing (i made backup of my wallet.dat before i started doing anything and than copied it back to the folder).

Can someone tell me how to get those coins back in my wallet Huh

Tnx

To resync, you need to delete your txleveldb folder and your database folder, along with your blk0001.dat file. Feel free to join our slack channel and we will walk you through any other issues: http://slack.projectradium.org

What's up with the network difficulty? I'm staking and receiving the reward almost every minute, and I'm on version 1.4.3. This is very strange and I am starting to get nervous, as if the RADS I have are worthless. Help Huh

hello everyone

we are having some issues with the stability of the network,  which we are working to resolve. it appears that the nodes are having issues agreeing on the correct block rewards, and this has caused some wallets to fork. We are working to understand the issue, and then correct it.

Affected wallets will be staking coins at a much faster rate than before, and may have disagreeing block heights. If this is you, then a full resync may help. i explained the process a few posts up. it may or may  not correct the issue.

Until we have identified a toot cause and have fixed the problem, please refrain from sending your rads anywhere. All rads that were in your wallet before these issues occurred today  are safe so long as you do not move them. Any rads staked kn the past 12 hours may or may not be valid once this is resolved.

The exchanges are also aware, and have disabled deposits and withdraws for the time being.

I'm sure you are frustrated, but please know we are as well, and are working as fast as possible to fix the issue and get back to normal.
