I think that he at least rocked the community and has got the industry in turmoil. It is just one more time that we ear that Bitcoin is dead, however IMO it olny served to get stronger.

Well, I would like to consider that you are right, but look at the support Crapssic is getting. If Bitcoin Crapssic wins, Greg Maxwell, Peter Wiulle and the rest of people that actually made Bitcoin work, will quit, therefore it's game over, but a lot of people want to centralize nodes by voting Crapssic, so we will see how this ends.

Yes. I think he's brought to light the depths at which bankers are willing to go to "own" bitcoin. That's a banker's nature, that's all a banker knows. Perhaps this will wake up the community at its "Core".

The main problem with bitcoin at the moment is how some core developers have commercial conflicts. If they really cared about bitcoin, they would either resolve those conflicts or resign from the project. Like Coinbase and Circle, blockstream needs to stay out of core.

Yes, I am actually fed up with all sides of the coin at the moment. The commercial interests of all parties are clouding their judgement. Everyone seem to think this technology

are owned by them and they can make changes for economic gain and nobody will notice or care. The power struggle are pulling the community apart at a time where we need

to stand together against the threat coming from all these banks and their private Blockchains. Let's take up arms together against these threats and not against each other.  Sad

1st point Banksters have had hundreads of years to work out how to overcome advesaries, that knowledge dosnt get lost.  I was reading earlier on www.http://positivemoney.org/ about the 1st time the bankers got control of the money printing press back in good old 1666.  its been awhile since then.  Roll Eyes

2nd point is that the Human being is so easily overcome by temptation and greed, never doubt a mans ability to abandon his ideals for the promise of extreame luxury, its the human condition. (and the banksters know this)

I think he tried to speculated the bitcoin market but now we see that he didn't be successful about it.

His evil(!) plan is;

Trying to lower bitcoin price and after that buy it low.

I agree with all of this. There are serious conflicts of interest going on and we had to know this would happen.  Maybe this is true, that all of the press around this will bring solutions to some of the issues.

I love Bitcoin

Yes.

Mike was the first to prove unquestionably that you cannot win an information war in the information age. The truth has this little problem characteristic of being both true, and now, freely accessible. Strangely ironic that a former Google employee would not see that.

So, by trying (and failing) to take Bitcoin over, Mike Hearn has demonstrated to the world that you can throw all the strategic/social engineering resources you have at Bitcoin, you will fail to take control. Mike even had "reputable" media outlets like the BBC, The Guardian and The Economist shilling both his reputation and his message. Fail.
