No gambling is not a sin , hehe . Its a addiction that makes you do sin Tongue

Actually depend on your religion perpective. As I know , because of gamble, you're already did bad deed that make evil happy no matter what type of the game did you played.
As long as that gamble can be stop, your sin will be rivoke since God well known as full of mercy

I suppose this would depend on the religion and what you view as gambling, think it's safe to say in most if not all religions greed is a sin and most people would gambling to gain more of what they have.

every single thing on earth is a gamble, so i don't think it's a sin

Most dictionaries define sin as a transgression against a divine law.

What divine law is gambling going against?

To me, gambling is just placing a wager/money on an uncertain outcome. If the outcome is in your favor, you get your money back plus extra. If the outcome is not in your favor, you lose your money. Where in this does anyone find a transgression against any divine law?

Basically, gambling is just math. Is doing math a sin?

No!!! Gambling is a sin only for those who does not know the techniques and tactics of gambling. Gambling is a form of art if you are betting in sports or something technical. In such cases it will be proven as easy money earner.
i think you're wrong about this because we all was know that almost in all religions decide gambling is a sin and they will says just stay away from gambling but the problem is even people already know about that but many people still did a gambling for a hobbies or for fun and even too for make living

Yes, yes it is. Among the major Abrahamic religions gambling is an insult to God since you are putting your faith in chance rather than God.It is also sometimes considered usury.
Don't worry though, many of the things you do everyday are considered abominations. Things like eating anything from the water without fins. Or failing to shave the head of a woman without a veil. We live in a time when you can do whatever you want and easily find another person who thinks God is fine with that.  Wink

Deuteronomy 4:2

Gambling is not even mentioned in the entire bible, it is not a sin.

Leviticus 16:8, “And Aaron shall cast lots for the two goats, one lot for the Lord and the other lot for the scapegoat."

1 Chronicles 25:8, "And they cast lots for their duties, all alike, the small as well as the great, the teacher as well as the pupil."

Psalm 22:18, "They divide my garments among them, and for my clothing they cast lots."

Matthew 27:35, "And when they had crucified Him, they divided up His garments among themselves by casting lots."

Acts 1:26, "And they drew lots for them, and the lot fell to Matthias; and he was numbered with the eleven apostles."

In the bible it is called "casting lots". Which is a religious act because the believers do not think randomness is possible. God determines the outcome of a gamble.  Not that I believe any of these things.

A lot is a PORTION, not gambling.

Casting lots means granting/determining portions.

Psalm 16:5 "The LORD is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot."

False religions tend to.. there are many aspects and conditions to do with gambling that can make it a sin.. but gambling itself. Doubtful.
Every step you make, every breath you take, is a gamble.

To gamble is to have faith in an outcome that you cannot prove. It is no different than having faith in testament.

No religion specifically condemn gambling or lottery. They have not given any specific command to avoid it. Religions calls excess greed a sin not gambling. It becomes sinful to person who becomes addicted to it and put gambling before the basic needs and start losing every belonging.

It depends how much religious you are and what your religion says about gambling, i don't think it is sin because it okay for me and i am enjoying my life there with this way, in many ways gambling creates a lot of problem that it can be wrong but i can.t say it is sin.

Yes, it is sin in many religions. It is prohibited because of it's effects.Regardless it is sin or not play keep doing it again and again.I think the factor of having money easily and fast overcomes this reality.Gambling is allowed in west but it is considered pleasant thing.

What are you talking about? Where are your proofs? I am expert on Christianity and I can tell you for sure that there is NOTHING in The Bible about gambling being a sin.
In fact in Old Testament we have multiple instances of gambling showed - as completely neutral practice, it is never condemned.
And in New Testament Apostles draw lots to find out who will be a new apostle after Judas Iscariot suicide.

As was said above, some religions consider it a sin. Everything that make you addicted isn't good. We need balance in our lifes. Too much food, too much work, too much goodness... Nothing too much is good.

But I believe there is no problem on gambling, for me it's not a sin, just need to know when to stop to don't lose everything on it.

I think this is very clear, that gambling is a sin. even every religion forbids, and we also must be good to avoid any gambling that we've come across, but I think it is very difficult

What is a sin?

A 'sin' to one person may be a norm to another.  Religion aside, most people just view a 'sin' as a burden of guilt.

Defined 'acting against divine law' .......... LOL

Ok god, I won't beat my wife in public.  Now that we're in the comfort of our home, I can beat my property without committing a sin.  But gambling?  Damn, I'm gonna feel real bad about that...  Roll Eyes

Divine law...hilarious...how do people actually believe in this stuff?  Fear of the unknown?  A crutch to fall back against?
