I don't think gambling is a sin because when someone believe he or she is not stealing or cheating then that's a probably fair game and it's also primarily for fun. That's just my point.

In Islam, gambling is a sin, but my country allows it for some reasons, maybe because the government takes 20% of the winnings. And since my government is poor, it surely wants to get free money. Gambling is a sin because men should gain money by working and make efforts to make it, not get money from a game in which the other opponent loses his money and get sad out of it.

Actually things what makes gambling considered as a sin for most people isn't about the game itself.
But when gambling in most case always finished with sad story and not benefical.

The fact that people will be difficult to win from gambling gives side effects. Stealing, robbing, killing etc can be done when someone has suffered a massive lose. It is a sin to do bad things to others. As far as you do not do anything that can harm anybody or even yourself,  you are free from it. It is on how the people used to gamble. You cannot depende to gain profit in gambling because it is about winning or losing. It might give you a problem when you lost everything on it.

yes i agree on you.but for me on my own way of understanding.i think being a gamler is not a  sin.as long as you dont hurt anybody.it can only be a sin if you are doing bad things to fullfill your gambling habbit.
The most worst of all in gambling is commiting a crime in order to have a  money for gamling . It is  verry frustrating this can be  a great sin if yourself didnt have a control and you wil be drawn to your own desire.if these was the case i think person addicted in gambling wil end up to nothing.

You will surely end up on getting on jail if you will do such foolishness just to serve your addiction. This would really be considered as a sin when you are already making things which arent good anymore and as you said would already create crimes. but if you do gamble with your fullest responsibilty and risk awareness then it wont really be a sin.

For a Muslim, gambling is a sin. If you are a Muslim, you keep sinning whatever you intend, gamble for fun or to make money, gambling remains a sin. Wherever you live, even though your country allows gambling, your religion forbids it and keeps it sinful if you gamble.

For a Muslim, gambling is a sin. If you are a Muslim, you keep sinning whatever you intend, gamble for fun or to make money, gambling remains a sin. Wherever you live, even though your country allows gambling, your religion forbids it and keeps it sinful if you gamble.

This is what is happening in malaysia. If you are a muslim in malaysia, you are not allow to enter genting casino. However, if you are a muslim from other country, as long you show the passport that you are not local muslim, you are allowed to enter the casino. So some of them would even sin and addicted in gambling.

In gambling it could be sin if you can be in greed and addicted already. Yes it is not good if gamble too much and not stopping from being much spending time playing. So not gamble is a sin actually it depends on the person how he handle it responsibly.

In what sense does a controlled gambling damage one's moral?  Religions are hyporcrites, believe me, they forbid you to bet on gambling games but they encourage you to buy tickets for their lottery.  Come to think of it, is not lottery a kind of gambling game?  Anyway, anything that is too much is bad, and greed is one of the 7 mortal sin but it is not encouraged in gambling.  It all depend on the person.
