Please help.  I just installed a 6950, installed ATI and OpenCL drivers.  I get the same error when trying to run either GUIminer or via command line poclbm;

Any assistance is greatly appreciated!

Are you going solo? If so is bitcoin or bitcoind running, have you created bitcoin.conf and set username and password?

Yes to solo and yes I started bitcoin with '-server' - it is getting multiple connections and the block count is current.

Yes the username / password are in the .conf file, nothing changed since swapping the nvidia card to the ati.

Complete stab in the dark, but could it be that your miner loads nvidia drivers and then later realizes it cannot do any hashing with ati card printing the miner idle message.

The way around it would probably be to uninstall nvidia drivers

They were uninstalled.  GUIMiner shows 2 options for mining; CPU and Cayman.  I select Cayman which I assume is correct for the 6950 gpu.

Same issue with me. Been at it for hours and hours.

Here's what I found: I found a Bitcoin directory in two locations. One in the roaming profile and one in C:\Program Files (x86)\Bitcoin.

When I put my bitcoin.config file in the (x86) directory and started the gui, voila!!!! It worked. I then started another gui for my second device and they both crashed  Angry

Closed them both out. Opened one gui and am currently running only one device. Need to figure out how to modify config file to get both running. Feedback?
