Hey guys. My wallet won't sync and I can't access me berncash. Any help? I'm on OSX. I have about 25,000 bern. I don't want to lose it all. 

Hi bigguy, sorry to learn you are having problems syncing. First, don't worrry as your BERN are safe and the BERN network is very strong.

Another OSX user recently contact me on facebook with the same issue. I moved a fresh peers.dat file for this person to try to http://berncoin.org/peers.dat which you may wish to try. To do this, download the linked file and overwrite your existing peers.dat file with it and relaunch your wallet. The peers.dat is in your BERNcash Appicaltion Support directory along with your wallet.dat file. Please note you wallet.dat file is unreplacable. Use caution not to delete your wallet.dat file.

However; we did have to clear the blockchain and resync to resolve the issue for this person. If the above peers.dat solution fails for you, you may wish to try this. To clear the blockchain, clear all files from the BERNcash Appplicatation Support directory EXCEPT your wallet.dat file and relaunch your wallet.

The path to your BERNcash Application Support directory on OSX is /Users/<username>/Library/Application Support/BERNcash/

If users of Windows are reading this with a similar issue, the above mentioned methods apply to you as well and your Windows BERNcash data directory is C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\BERNcash\

Linux users, /home/<username>/.BERNcash/ or /root/.BERNcash if you installed as root.

To correct the calculated balance: In the debug console (Help -> Debug window -> Console tab) type "repairwallet" and press enter.
Your balance will be reconciled.

If you have yet to swing by the BERNcash Community Forum and wish to exchange goods and services for BERN, talk about BERN, or just discuss politics, please do so. I enacted the "BERN Community Forum (featuring BERNcash marketplace) Stimulus Act of 2016" in an effort to promote the forum. I will be rewarding meaningful content with BERN. I will be rewarding goods or services listed in the marketplace board a bit more heavily and rewarding the first few (?) successfully completed exchanges in the marketplace much heavier.

Before someone asks, "why is the previously mentioned marketplace now on the forum?", this was not the original plan I had mentioned to you. The developer that was working on a "Berners Market", a project that he had started months ago, has run into some personal issues and also some financial issues that both have had to postpone the development of that marketplace. His plan involved closed sourced software modules that cost a lot of money. Myself, being more of an open source solution finder, expedited the development of the forum to both provide the community with our own forum and a place where exchange of goods and services in exchange for BERN could happen. I am still working on minor changes such as a custom logo I am waiting on an artist for his results but, these minor changes can happen while the forum is live and do not need to prevent use of the forum.

If you are not a Bernie Sanders supporter, please do not think you are not welcome. You are as is your opinion and debate is very much welcome. That said, personal attacks, slanderous comments, and false accusations that have no factual basis towards anyone (pro-Bernie or otherwise) will not be tolerated. Disagreements can be debated in a civil manner as we have seen on occasion in this forum and I do appreciate that. I do not intend to censor anyone's opinion. That said, the BERNcash Community Forum is open to all ages and does have facebook integration so please keep vulgarity, which I see no reason for in an intellectual debate of opinions, to a minimum or I will have to ban it outright and I would hate feeling like I am taking away freedom of speech from anyone. That is not my goal.

I will try to keep "political posts" to a minimum here in the BitcoinTalk forum as has been requested by my fellow crypto enthusiasts. The BERNcash Community Forum also will give that pleasant side effect to people that have voice their dislike of many political posts. But please bear in mind the purpose of BERNcash is to promote and support, without the use of fiat, progressive politicians such as Bernie Sanders. You will still see politics brought into this thread but on a lower frequency.
