OK so BERNcash uses the X14 Algorithm, does that mean that it is susceptible to attacks since thats why they skipped X12 as well ?

Yes, BERNcash uses X14. Any algo is susceptible to attacks though I have not seen any indication of such attacks on the BERN network.

To my knowledge, there is no publicly available ASIC that can hash X14. One of the reasons I selected X14 was the low number of coins using the algo. You see, ASIC manufactures can make an ASIC for any algo so long as the expense to develop, produce, and market it are worthy with much room for profit. With very few coins using X14, this likelihood is very low. Certainly very low before November, when half of the PoW generated coins will already be mined. I feel X11 has seen this ASIC invasion because, in part, the large number of coins that use X11. Thus making the audience for such a product larger. These products can not mine X14. Yes, my idea was the low popularity of X14 could be an advantage and give BERN slightly more ASIC resistance.

Another reason I selected X14 is it removes the whirlpool algo from X15 (X14 + whirlpool = X15). Removing the whirlpool algo gives a slight advantage to CPU mining. CPU mining sees almost a 15% increase in hash rate while GPU mining sees only about a 5% increase in my experiments. I viewed this as a way to give less technically savvy people, or people that simply could not afford a modern GPU, a slight advantage and to 'level the playing field' some. This fact of X14 and in-wallet 'easy pool mining' gives a low learning curve for less technically savvy people to enter BERN and crypto in general. I made every effort to make public acceptance and adoption of BERN as painless as possible. I view this as not only an advantage for BERN but also a push in the right direction for cryto in general.

BERNcash got some free exposure today in one of the more popular pro-Bernie facebook groups when this familiar picture circulated with some improvements made by a kind Bernie supporter. Certainly, it sparked the curiosity of some enough to investigate. Hopefully, we gain some community members and BERN users. Of course, I do make BERNcash posts and comments occasionally in some of these Bernie groups but, this was a large Bernie meme group and perhaps a different audience. Free publicity is always a good thing!

EDIT: If we do gain some BERN users new to crypto, I wonder how much they will take for granted the ease of 'easy pool mining' in the wallet. In some ways perhaps it is a shame they will miss the joy of finally getting mining to work after a sleepless night or more.

Hi mate! Well, without going into too much political detail that I know some of the BCT audience dislikes, I, along with the rest of the 99% that have to actually abide by our laws, am furious with the FBI's recent announcement. I have yet to see a public reaction from Bernie but, given he is walking a tightrope with the Democratic party, his silence on the topic is understandable. Of course, we know he must be furious as well, as he is always when justice fails. He knows politics far better than I. It looks like the GOP and, hopefully, the forthcoming FBI probe will spell out for the public how audacious this is.

No, surrendering is not an option and no one has given up. Unless you're talking about the FBI performing their law enforcement duties and some weak handed opportunist. YoBit has actually seen an increase in volume recently. Nothing earth shattering but, an increase none the less. Again, I am in no competition with other coins or developers, that is not my style. I have both publicly and privately wished them success with their projects even if we may not agree on politics. This project continues despite the relentless negative pressure on the markets. From where this negative pressure, I will not speculate. But anyone would be incorrect to not realize this project, along with any other 'political coin', has an entire host of new ramifications beyond other crypto projects. Many of which we have little direct control over.

To better stay abreast of developments please join the forum (http://forum.bern.cash). Otherwise, I only use this thread for concrete announcements and of course support. Development continues amongst myself and other supporters. Public announcements are only made when things are certainties to not misguide investors and holders.

No, I did not stop the stimulus payments. I do so every weekend. They are based on recent activity in the community on the forum.

Also I process payments for the faucet every night at midnight eastern standard time.
