As you see, that site suffered from some sort of exploit recently, which permitted a guy to win a fortune of 35BTC in a matter of hour, by betting with 100% chances to win.

All im asking is, if there is a way to know if a site is patched again such exploits. Im also paranoid to think that this could have been an inside job so some guy working there claims they got hacked but it's actually the actual site pulling a MtGox/Cryptsy (tinfoil hat off, but just saying).

May be true or may not be. Mostly these kind of exploits are done be insiders only because they know all weaknesses in the system so they can easily exploit. So it is better to invest/gamble in some reputed site instead on new sites.

That is such an invalid statement , specially for anything that accepts investments and is related to Btc. Truth is, no matter how reputed the site is you can always get hit or scammed. Just an example, Primedice which recently lost money recently to an exploit, is very trusted and one of the oldest websites. Obviously being reputed and old doesn't matter much. Luckily for people, it isn't an investment site. You are not doing it right, if you invest in any site with btc,  even if its reputed and old. Most of the biggest hacks were on such sites. And most of the people who have investments in any of those sites , don't get this thought unless their funds take a hit.

Yea, there is no way to be aware of these exploits beforehand. There's always gonna be hackers and those looking to game these sites.  The only thing you can do is play at the sites that have been around the longest and have the best reputation. That way if they are hacked, your funds are hopefully insured by the site owner.

There pretty much is no way to know. If it was known, then lots of people would be exploiting it which by then the site would not be safe. If the site does manual withdraws though, and they check before processing, then the site would be safe.

What you said is true but these are the some of the risks one should take if they want to invest money in these casinos. There will be a many people who want to exploit site for easy money so if you invest in reputed sites your money may be better secured than new sites because reputed sites may spend some money for security purpose than new sites. This is just my opinion.

quite difficult today. the proliferation of gambling sites make people think to try one by one site. my opinion is do Withdraw your funds at these sites, do not save money too much. it's all you can avoid the risk of losing your bitcoin.

I don't know if there's a way to guarantee that a site is safe from being exploited but there are steps to reduce risks that one can take.  Generally, one method I use is to play with the free money or faucet money to try and find any inconsistencies in the platform.  When I deposit, I start with a small amount and immediately test withdrawal times.  When I win, I withdraw ASAP.

I recently won 10BTC on slots within an hour of depositing 0.01BTC due to a major miscalculation on the part of the coders...Needless to say, I was not able to withdraw.  It happens more often than we realize.  Sometimes, updates inject exploits, so even well established sites can fall victim to the possibility.

There is nothing much a site can do about this, its almost same as zero-day vulnerabilities of getting infected. You can't prevent yourself from what is unknown but usually these are most probably inside jobs.

Believe me. if they weren't protected they most probably be already with their doors shut a long time ago. it would simply be unbearable for them.

I agree that a site like Primedice is probably less likely to suffer from such 0day exploits, but let's assume that everyone thought and acted like that... then it would be impossible to allow new business to develop since no one would play outside the 2 or 3 successful business that have survived the longest time. This is bad for competition and can make existing successful gambling sites start taking advantage of this situation by raising fees or worsening win % or whatnot, since they think "well, people is going to play in our site anyway).

well i kindly think that it is impossible to guarantee this because people who are playing on a website are not owners what means that they actually can not do anything about it
