Is there a list of cryptocurrencies that are sha-256 and scrypt labeled?
I use http://coinchoose.com/index.php for looking what is SHA and what SCRYPT. But on the list are not all coins.

Check the Crypto-currency directory, almost all. Smiley

OSC is Sha 256, not scrypt

My mistake, corrected Smiley

Even if you use Bitcoin through Tor, the way transactions are handled by the network makes anonymity difficult to achieve. Do not expect your transactions to be anonymous unless you really know what you're doing.

Hi,

Could someone add Anoncoin to https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/List_of_alternative_cryptocurrencies ?

Thanks!

XorXor is currently awol. we need someone else to maintain the list now.

wiki list is impossible to maintain, I never tried to.

Could you at least remove it from the "THE PURGATORY" list? I can't say it's in that state anymore. So either move up, or remove it completely.
http://coinmarketcap.com/ - Anoncoin is at #15 but on "THE PURGATORY", and for example PhenixCoin at #33, PhenixCoin is on "CANDIDATES". It's been this for weeks. Feels wrong.

PS: github source also include coin control, not just i2p support.

Thanks in advance Smiley

I don't understand who determines these lists. How can you put TRC on minor, while the network is completely shit and currently running on allmost no speed and say IXCoin died while it is running with tremendous hashingpower? Do you just look at the current price, or the fact that it is hosted on btc-e, or the numer of nodes? I think all crypto's including btc should be in one list, none of them has proven to be safe for the long term yet.

Thanks for putting out all specification, that is a great help!

shit yeah i agree totally. PXC is a effing scamcoin and only devalues further overtime.

that was an unfair joke targeted at NVC. i'm sorry i did that, you seem to actually be an ok dude despite the NVC premine. i shouldn't have been so rude to you after you have been so nice to me. Btw, you are doing great work repairing PHS.
Thank you, but there is no premine exists in NVC. Anyone able to verify this fact using a block chain explorer and calculator. Of course, people are free to listen the ignorant or biased guys, but it's not a thing that our brains supposed to do. Smiley That's why I'm using the "Ignore" button instead of arguing with them and I recommend anyone to do the same.

To me the premine isn't the issues, its more of the "total amount of coins" and the fact that it can be changed so easily? I was reading its not as hardcoded as the others

There is no reason to worry about, because MAX_MONEY constant is just a sanity checking threshold which has no influence on the real emission volume. The final coin limit is non-deterministic, because the emission is controlled by a functions of PoS and PoW difficulty ratios.

In other words, the final coins volume is non-deterministic, but it's still limited by growing difficulties and coins destruction. That's required by implemented security model, otherwise the Proof-of-Stake system wouldn't provide any security in the long-term.

P.S. Don't invest anything into the Proof-of-Stake system, if the developer tries to implement any type of deterministic emission model. Those coins are broken by design and doomed to fail.

Hi,

Please remove Anoncoin completely from this thread. Clearly it's going to stay in "THE PURGATORY" while dying coins are listed as "CANDIDATES". This thread is clearly not maintained in terms of changing the order of coins, and therefore the dev team and the community think this is just putting us in a bad view.

Thanks.

I've recently seen that MMMCoin is resurrected as NVC clone.

http://mavrocoin.org/en/blog/development/
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=300426.0

Pre-mine is 1000000 coins, current block reward is ~0.5 coin. The most part of blockchain parameters is unchanged.
