It's your list, and you can obviously arrange things however you wish. But in my opinion MΣC and CGB have both moved well beyond the "Candidates" stage.
I'm at least happy to see you had the good sense to upgrade CGB from "The Purgatory".  Cool

Lets get serious.  CGB and MEC are nothing more than decent alt coins on a decent run.  That can be said about any alt coin out there, with few exceptions.

Purgatory means just that:  uncertainty.  And these coins have in no way moved out of the uncertainty level just cause they had a good short term run.

IxCoin is up 300% and has been around a lot longer but you don't see that being moved up.  And the same can be said about a number of other alt coins.

Let's have some halfway strict standards about this thing, lest these candidate lists get filled with tons of CrapCoins and scammer pump and dumps.

It will be interesting to hear your comments towards the end of the year when both these coins have more than doubled their market caps.  Roll Eyes

Doubled in 3 months?  Is that supposed to be impressive?

Welcome to alt coins where coins double in days not months.

I'd like to see CGB and MEC a) consistently go up as Bitcoin goes up and b) to see them maintain their new highs as Bitcoin blows past $200.

Cause it's obvious to me, most coins and especially scrypt will get slaughtered by the coming BITCOIN price boost.

Any coin that can prove to go up against bitcoin and maintain their gains then deserves to be moved up in rank.

Actually I think you need to examine your charts again. MΣC is up about 400% in the last month. If it doubles again by the end of the year, it will be 800% from a month ago, and about 30,000% since I started mining it. Bitcoin is only up slightly in the last 30 days, and no Bitcoin does not consistently go up. It is just like any other investment, it fluctuates. Much of Bitcoin's new found value is from other junk coins being mined, and sold to buy Bitcoin. The same thing is happening with MΣC and CGB. But like I said, wait till the end of the year, and compare notes again.  Wink

@VTR99,

If you look at long term value which is what counts, Bitcoin does go up consistently.  The up and down spikes are due to the volatility from the illiquid nature of Bitcoin and alt coins general.  Make no mistake though, there is real demand for Bitcoins unlike any other alt coins thanks to the huge fund (by SecondMarket) just launched (for rich investors only) which should be followed by an ETF very soon.

From worth pennies to over $1.5 billion and maintaining the value, that mind numbing for a fiat backed by nothing.

There are a few coins up multi fold over the past few months but like I said, that's not a real test for these coins.

Granted, I like CGB and ANC and DGC as well as MEC.  However, I'm not convinced they can survive what's coming given they're scrypt coins.

Being up 30,000% is incredibly impressive.  I'm new here so I'm only up 300% on my main long term holding, ixCoin, and although that's also a risky buy, I think it will do very well, better than Bitcoin, should Bitcoin get that ETF license and blow past $1,000 next year.

Good luck!

interested in ripple? No.

interested in you adding all the new coins to the list? YES.

My negative trust rating is reflective of a personal vendetta by someone on default trust.

Well, 30,000% from zero. The end result isn't very impressive in fiat currency.  Wink

Absolutely agree that MΣC and CGB are much higher risk than Bitcoin, or Litecoin, but also potentially far more rewarding. I'm a very small investor (only what I have mined), so I figure my risk is almost zero if I discount my time and electricity. I have no doubt the Bitcoin ETF will happen, and I'm sure Bitcoin will eventually go far beyond $1,000. There are a lot of good things happening with Litecoin too. The next few months are going to be very exciting for MΣC...

Best of luck to you too!

I saw someone in this thread talking about a pre-mine connected to AnonCoin. Because of the new Anonymous Netherlands forum that went live I decided to host a giveaway. I asked the devs if they could send me some coins to support the giveaway and they did. I do not know howmany coins where pre-mined or if there actually was a pre-mine, but I'm glad that this way I get some free coins to give to my fellow anons.

The way I see it is, everyone on this entire blog is premining all the coins. Just as if the world knows about this already  Wink

Hey, he made CGB (CryptogenicBullion) as a Candidate!

  Hurray!

Or is it he must own some CryptogenicBullion too?!?!

lol. Might be a smart move, or not. Time will tell.

Of course I sure like CGB. As much as I do BTC in fact.

And the trend from start to present it's in looks wonderful compared to almost all the other crypto-currencies.

Only a few crypto-currencies are progressively gaining value. Best watch those trends people! But beware of the possible Pump Schemes too!

And in case anyone wonders I do own quite modest amounts of many crypto-currencies to date (mostly by mining them). With CGB being one I own more of than most of the others.

One last thought: Gee it must suck to be a member of the FOMC at the FED right about now...

Hi again to all!

Having been so busy mining, learning, researching and well just far too busy to post hardly at all so far I thought it was way past time to give a bit back to everyone since bitcointalk.org and it's many active members have been so kind to share so much knowledge and all to those like myself.

So without furhter ado here's a couple of things I can share:

It sure would be nice if the developers of IXcoin would add wallet Encryption to their QT client!

As for IXcoin moving higher it would seem some are doing their basic research and due diligence here!

today's chart (10/13/13):
http://www.cryptocoincharts.info/period-charts.php?period=today&resolution=hour&pair=ixc-btc&market=cryptsy

5 day chart:
http://www.cryptocoincharts.info/period-charts.php?period=5-days&resolution=hour&pair=ixc-btc&market=cryptsy

6 month chart:
http://www.cryptocoincharts.info/period-charts.php?period=6-months&resolution=day&pair=ixc-btc&market=cryptsy

Wink

You see that giant spike on the 6 month chart?  That was me, single handedly, running an experiment.  Lol.

Speaking of Blockchains, InstaMining, and Premines, plus whatever else does and doesn't make a long term successful crypto-currency.

I recently found this very helpful site below that many others may find very helpful in determining which
crypto-currencies have the best qualities, and most fair starts, as well as most fair mining rates throughout their mining period.
