So who and why would someone/group DDOS Lisk on launch?

A: An investor who wanted to get their coins into an exchange first to sell high with the added option to buy back low.
B: Individual or team from another coin so investors would sell and invest in them.
C: Someone who missed out to invest in the ICO and wanted coins at a lower price or to cause harm.
D: Another exchange.

Hopefully some more info will emerge in next few days.

Disclaimer: I am guilty of buying up some cheap coins myself, and why you might ask, with the team and all the delegates, (a lot of other coins don't have that many committed people) working to bring in improvement. I am willing and betting to give it a few months, then see where we are and look forward to using the new Apps.

That's serious, may compromise a lot of others ICOs and projects.

Great, so i am now missing 1/4 of my lisk.  It shows as sent in my wallet 5 hours ago, yet doesn't show in the blockchain.  The address for deposit is 100% correct. What the hell is going on? Where are my coins?

What the hell, so if i log into login01.lisk.io it shows my balance..?

Could it be that when you pressed 'send' that the button just became grey and it was actually never sent? You still having all your coins?

Because that happened to me yesterday. Then I used Grumlin's node, which worked fine.

The balance updated to reflect the transaction, I've just done it again, it said transaction sent, updated my balance, and it's now just updated and refreshed my balance and the transaction is gone like i never sent it

I have successfully transfered 5% of my ico out into the world.  Only way to go is up now.  3x ico, and picked up some @41k.  Profit of like 10-15g's so far, but i still want my lambo... So probably just going to hold out until these 70k are worth  half a million, or ~8$ a piece.

I agree, this puts a cloud over all new projects and ICO in my opinion.  If it was indeed a DDOS attack then this indicates Lisk is a serious player and someone or a group of people wanted to mess with it out the gates and they succeeded.  I am sure that Lisk dev team is as down about this as ICO holders that just wanted to at least access their wallet and see their coins.

In a way I am ok with it all because when people start using Lisk it will move in price and I may have regretted selling.  I will hold and watch.  It's a new day, cheer up everyone.

Why is this a scam? The dev's LISK are still untouched. The blockchain is working fine. The price is at least 3 times the ICO.

All that lacks are easy wallets, but that shouldn't be a priority.

Don't think it was a scam and I wasn't going to unload all my Lisks...I wanted to sell at least a quarter and transfer profits to Waves ICO. What a fucked up launch!

As stated above, probably a problem with the client not being on the right block heigth. there are alternative at login02, login03, and so on(up to 08, I think?), probably look into them.

i then transferred coins and they appeared on polo soon after, now just waiting for confirmations. all is solid now, thats for sure.

i can see 65k+ after this sell off period easy.

And just to say this, my personal opinion: The launch was indeed disappointing but there was (and is) also too much drama here. It's one thing to be critical about how it all was managed, but it's another thing to come up with accusations as if they were scammers. We are in Crypto. It's always high risk and it's normal that there are technical problems. We don't buy into already finished projects, it's all work in progress. The price is safe above ICO and the future will show if LISK has a chance to be one of the big players of the market or not.

What I believe is safe: There will be progress. They won't stop working on it. Now they also can invest into LISK what they couldn't do the last months.

It's time to calm down now and see things in a bigger perspective.
