Lisk launch post-mortem: What went right, what went wrong

Yesterday, at exactly 8pm UTC, we published Lisk v0.3.0 and announced the launch of Lisk. What a launch that was! In this post-mortem we bring light to the problems we faced, explain why our web login isn’t/wasn’t accessible, and clear up misunderstandings.



First of all, I’d like to apologise for the rough launch and the harm that the DDoS attack caused. Since the launch, we have been working tirelessly to ensure that all our systems are working perfectly again. We simply didn’t anticipate this overwhelming demand and trading chicanery.

The only problem we still face at this moment are our web logins. The reason is the same as yesterday: huge amount of traffic and ongoing DDoS attacks. However, everything else is working very well. Users can install Lisk on various operation systems like Windows, Mac OS, and Linux. Local client installations are functional and the Lisk network is alive and healthy.

Great to know that NO Lisks were lost, they are all still in the wallets or now at exchanges - that itself is an accomplishment in light of the forces attacking your servers.  I was able to use grumlin's node successfully to move some and the rest are sitting in my wallet while I watch this technology mature.    Keep up the good work!

You have multiple instances of Lisk open. It can't work like that because 2 (or more) apps are using the port 8000 on your system.

Solution:


Get all docker container id's:

docker ps -a


Stop all docker container (replace container_id with your own id), you have to do this step for every new id:

docker stop container_id

you dont use trade for lisk on bloombit.net. their wallet systems not working. if you try send lisk, their deposit can't see any coin on blockchain. i have 2000 over confirm but still not seen in the deposit page. i wrote support and saying same think. this " The problem has Lisk network. All exchanges have problems. We hope they will fix it asap."
