Lisk Berlin: Blockchain Meetup #6

Wednesday, November 22, 2017

With the Asia Tour wrapped up, we are happy to announce our next Berlin meetup on November 22nd.

Given that this will be the final Lisk meetup of 2017 and we have a lot to share, the focus of this event will be on Lisk. Therefore, we will not feature any guest speakers. Our presentations will feature past accomplishments as well as what we have planned for the next months.

Although we will not reveal the Lisk rebrand during the meetup, we will share important news and the date of the rebranding launch!.....

That is a very cool tool for new voters, should be posted on each page of this thread!

Lisk is again looking for a new employee. This time will be an employee with experience in Office Manager w/ bookkeeping and administrative experience in Berlin. The team is still growing.

Yeah, 26 full time employees and actively hiring more people, its going to be a nice Christmas party with more than thirty employees in lisk headquarters.

I just found this great tool on lisk builders page https://lisk.builders/votemanager , now im gonna play with it.

Hi everyone! Just dropping in to give a quick update on my reward sharing.
A little bit ago, I distributed my last 25% reward amount. Starting next week on Monday, November 13th, I will begin sharing 60% of my forging rewards with my voters!
This also coincides with the incoming block reward drop from 5 to 4 Lisk per block. With my increased shared amount, voter reward payouts from my delegate devasive will see an increase instead of decreasing.

Be sure to vote for devasive (currently forging at rank 97) before the next payout to begin receiving part of the 60% reward distribution!

I really appreciate the support I've had thus far on this long journey. Thank you!

You have my loyalty as a delegate voter now sealed in cement. Delegates that are not greedy will be remembered by the Lisk community.

@Devasive, first of all - that's really nice to hear.

But is this a sustained decision, not only a temporary one cause rank #102 coming closer threateningly?
I remember another delegate who promised 90% beyond #101, then lowered to 80%, and now he is at 30%.
(Unvote follows shortly after his next payout).
Thanxx for a short statement.

Communitypool is 80% reward sharing delegate. One of the best payout pool in top 101 for your one vote. Distributing around 2500 LSK weekly with voters. If you have one spare vote, please consider to vote communitypool .

Check pool site : https://communitypool.info

Proposal : https://forum.lisk.io/viewtopic.php?f=48&t=1268

Communitypool also doing small campaigns and actively donating from remaining 20% to community members who put a lot of effort for Lisk. Check Transparency report for this.

Does Smb knows, whether this team has experience?

I'd say it is one of the greatest teams in crypto. Does that answer your question?

I'm new to crypto and I've had a small amount of LSK for a few months, but I've never actually voted. I realize different pools offer different rewards. But could anyone give me a rough idea on what the return would be like for someone with say 100 LSK coins? I found earnlisk.com but the calculator is a little confusing to me. I realize I'd burn 1 LSK for 33 votes and that when any LSK is sent to me I'd lose 0.1LSK.

With 100 coins it says I'd earn 0.9 LSK.

Is that 0.9LSK profit? (meaning I'd earn about 5 LSK a month minus 4 LSK for me voting minus 0.1 LSK in fees to transfer them to me)

Or is that saying I'd earn 0.9LSK total. (meaning I'd spend 4LSK voting to earn ~ 0.9LSK. Basically I'd lose ~ 3LSK if I tried)

Basically I'm trying to figure out if it's worth me voting, or if I should try to acquire more LSK before doing so. There must be some approximate number of LSK to own to making voting worthwhile.

Thanks!

noobs, finally stop voting all 101 delegates blindly!
You have no plan what you're doing thereby!

With this uninformed manner you support pools which disburse lousy 0%-25%
and you're also helping to centralize the delegate system. This could end in a
situation where greedy groups dominating, keeping all Lisk for themselves and
doesn't share anymore!

Inform yourself about this odd, questionable delegate situation before you vote!
r/Lisk is full of appropriate posts. Read!

I agree. I'm not very happy with the way this "delegates" thing works.
Why do these guys need to keep >50% while we vote for them in the first place?

Why not do it like Waves, where anyone can start a node or a pool if he holds enough Waves or can get enough leases?

Hopefully the Lisk team makes some changes that will create a fair way of distribution.

I'm not even planning on voting, the way it is right now.

Agreed in that they should follow the waves model. This 101 delegates only allows certain whales to control the price of lisk as they dump them all on the exchange. This needs changing before the rebrand and marketing

According to earnlisk, for that 100lsk in your wallet, you would earn 0.9lisk monthly. So let's say you buy 103lsk, 3lsk are spent for 101 votes. You now have 100lsk and from now on you will earn approximately 0.9lsk, so it will take you 4 months to get back lisk you have spent on voting. And from that moment on, you can count profits, because if there are no big changes in delegates, you will constantly get these 0.9 lisk every month. But yeah, it looks like for some decent profits an account of around 300/500 would be needed, I think. However you can buy these lisk now and vote and just add new lisk when you can afford them, because the votes are permanent and will always count your most recent wallet balance when it comes to the reward.
