Have been using 2.0 for some time time. Downloaded and installed 2.5.4. It seems to work fine but when I close and reopen, 2.0 comes up and I have to reinstall 2.5.4 again.
This has happened repeatedly. There is only one icon in my applications file. I am running OSX 10.9.
How do I get 2.5.4 to permanently install and 2.0 to uninstall?
Thanks.

I don't know what you have done in the past, but Electrum OSX apps operate within their own sandboxes - there are no install or uninstall required.  If you still have the 2.0 app in your application folder - just trash it (drag the app to the trash bin - it is that simple - but you should know that, right ?).  If your version 2.0 was properly set to the Applications folder, moving v.2.5.4 to it should have asked you to overwrite 2.0.

Those are the steps required to put Electrum on OSX:

1. Double-click on the .dmg file downloaded from https://electrum.org/#download.  A window should open to show you the Electrum app.
2. Drag this Electrum app to your Finder's Applications folder.
3. Go to your Applications folder and right-click on the Electrum icon and select Open (you only have to do this step once - because the app was downloaded from the internet).
4. v2.5.4 should open.  Right-click on the icon -- Select Options -- Select Keep in Dock.  (Alternatively, click and drag the Electrum icon in your dock to a different position)
5. Click on the Dock Electrum icon whenever you want Electrum to run.

PS:  Why are you still on OSX 10.9?   OSX upgrades are free and the rest of the world is on 10.11...   Mac HW that can accommodate 10.9 can easily accommodate 10.11... Are you really a Mac user? ... just asking.. given the Newbie account ... one post...  Not upgrading to the newest OS is a Windows operators trend... Most OSX users do upgrade - actually over 90% of them do... (including my 80 yo mom)

In summary, I seriously don't believe in the legitimacy (or credibility) of your post....
