IP Ban: Someone from that IP was Banned or you are using IP that is Blacklisted by Bitcointalk.org Server.
You Need to pay a dust of bitcoins to get enable to your account , i guess the fine is not more than few days faucet earning.
If your account is at-least Jr.Member i consider , you should Pay the Fine , else just head away and change your IP and make a new Fresh account.

This guy was wrong? I thought using bad IP can affect only Brand New accounts (after registration).

When you register, the IP that you used when you submitted the registration form is used to calculate your evilness. The more frequently this IP or its neighbors were banned, the more evil is associated with your account. The amount of evil associated with an IP decays slowly over time, but the amount of evil associated with an account does not. You must pay or be manually whitelisted to enable posting on one of these "banned" accounts.

I understood the IP's evil points, what about "evil is associated with your account" in the Theymos's post?

Yes, there is no way to reach Jr. with a proxy banned account.

When you register, the IP that you used when you submitted the registration form is used to calculate your evilness. The more frequently this IP or its neighbors were banned, the more evil is associated with your account. The amount of evil associated with an IP decays slowly over time, but the amount of evil associated with an account does not. I understood the IP's evil points, what about "evil is associated with your account" in the Theymos's post?

Read it as "a newly created account will get higher evil points the more evil points have been accumulated on that IP" (what a mouthful)

For us it is clear all those evil points cannot harm already created accounts.
This is just if you creating brand new account..
 Wink
But you can be permaban if you c+p. Giveaways, begging for btcs will bring you bans.
Also piracy is forbidden especially software,keys..
Not to mention obvious Scams,C.Porn lovers..
So there are lots way to get banned.

Good for me! I registred with Tor (because of my ISP) and all was fine.

I think it (evil points) is good protection from scammers, but it is a kind of oposition to Tor.

you must have been lucky... Just had an exit node that had no evil points. To bad most of them have evil points, and do require a (sometimes big) fee to be payed.

Enjoy your new account Smiley

I found another drawback of using Tor Sad I have to enter capcha each time I send PM and I have to wait 360 seconds to send it (even if I didn't send PM's today at all I all because of someone sent PM using the same Tor exit node). I think It sould be 360 seconds per account not per IP.

No, that's just a restriction for newbies to prevent PM spam/scamming, I think.

That's why points of evil are in place right now. If you're using any service to hide your IP then you'll get points of evil.

you can get a mod to whitelist your account if your posts are good enough. also the time restriction applies to posts and some other actions too.
the last time of posting is taken from your IP but how long you have to wait in seconds is calculated using your account's stats (rank). if I'm not mistaken.

AFAIK you need someone to vouch for you. I probably got vouch and whitelisting mixed up, see below.

Whitelist? Is there thread about it that explain how to do it. And why I am not in whitelist? I had not to pay fee (0 evil points) at all.

I'm sure you only need the mod to agree to white-list you. maybe it's the one on theymos' post that needs vouch.

If you ask nicely a mod can white-list you which will significantly reduce your waiting time.

You just have the normal newbie restrictions. IIRC whitelisting them away was only thing when the newbie jail was still enforced. Newbies were required to wait 4 hours and post some number of posts in beginners and help before they could post elsewhere. If you wanted to e.g. sell a miner you would ask to be whitelisted to create the post.

A vouch can spare you the evil points fee, but since you didnt pay one I dont think it applies to you.

After registration I have got posibillity to post anywhere, not just in beginers and help. My first post are in "Stake your bitcoin addresses here" because I don't want to lose my account Smiley I just have to enter the capthca when I try to write the PM. Maybe it is because of another reasone...

Anyway it is not so important because I can read and write the posts and PMs Smiley
