I think the truth is that it turns out to make ASIC's is a hell of a lot more difficult then these FPGA programmers thought. They should have promised like a year or two a the start. It's obvious that it's possible, just not obvious who actually has the expertise to do so.

That said, Avalon has a countdown to shipping and it's pretty soon.

more or less retired.

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

I heard APPLE has a Patent infringement against BFL for their new ASIC Phone/Ipod/Ipad/Vapourware rig........OHHH SO THATS WHY the CHIPS are DELAYED !!!

Stands to reason

Also good to see they have spent all of the pre order money on building an APP so you can take your mining rig for a walk down the street...nice

Keep up the good work

Lab Rat, you wouldn't want us to hold up all the shipments just so you can take a vacation! Please come back before the end of January.

Why don't you ask the butterfly labs themselves:

FUCK I'ml TIRED OF NO INFORMATIO PLEASE HELP ME GOD

Fuck, I am tired of the lack of information. Please help me God.

FFTY
Should be a comma after "me"

Anyway, the answer, according to their FAQ right now live on their site at this very moment is:
We cannot disclose the number of orders we currently have.  Shipping of new units is still anticipated to being late November or early December. We are unable to predict accurate wait times until shipping begins.

So there's your answer, straight from BFL.  Just wait for Nov or Dec lol.

Hey, my grandfather always said if you decide to be something, you should always aim to be the best.

You are in a maze of twisty little passages, all alike.
