I'm wondering if I need to download the whole blockchain to be able to sign a message ? I'm using Bitcoin Core btw .

Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

nope. just tried it and it works fine. heck I didn't even connect to the internet. so I'm sure all you need is the private key.

I see , thanks then and I assume that It should be the same for verifying since you don't even need a private key for verifying signed message unlike signing them.

Correct, signing and verification happen locally and no blockchain data is needed.

Im not really here, its just your imagination.
