yes its true on current time deepweb is using all the payments on bitcoin or i should say mostly on bitcoin and also seen some old wallet sites have moved to deepweb and i really hate those sites because they charge 0.001btc transaction fees.

Sure bitcoin is breaking the general rules, about where the money cant be used and spent, but this ilegal problems are something without solution at fiat, why would it be different at bitcoins, people must realize bitcoin and crypto world has several advantages against the system of fiat, but it can be used in both ways, being good or bad.
Why and how did bitcoin is breaking the general rules? This illegal activities are not just happening with the use of bitcoins. It's unfair that many thinks that bitcoin is the only medium or currency that can be used because the fiat money is being abused and used also for this type of activities. But its true that bitcoin is being used with bitcoin too. general rules is when we make money from something, we should pays tax, and in bitcoin, we don't have to pay any tax and because of this, i am sure that for somehow bitcoin is being used for illegal activities but i don't know what kind of that activities and i don't want to think too much about that. as long as i am play safe with bitcoin, then i think i will be fine. |

Bitcoin is really being used on illegal transactions because of its anonymity features and its really normal that people would really tend to use it on illegal stuffs because authorities would really have a hard time to trace them up regarding on their activities. This is somehow the disadvantage of anonymity but it really depends on the user on how he gonna use bitcoin for any purposes. This also gives negative image to bitcoin also.

The same is said about gold as well being used for illegal activities like drug smuggling and so on but since gold is a legal commodity, such articles are ignored while bitcoins only suffer as they are not regulated by the Government. Till the Government doesn't find a solution to this, we shouldn't lose hope and continue promoting bitcoins on our blogs or on other forums.

There's no difference between the fiat and bitcoin because that two can be used in illegal activities and if people are concluding that bitcoin is mostly use for illegal activities but how do you rate fiat since fiat users are 99% of the total world population and that makes a statement that all can be use for illegal activities and fiat are mostly used than bitcoin. |

Yes, true! Anything can be used for bad! Gold can be used to buy things as well as money. And this two modes of payment has been used to pay for evil objects like nuclear bombs, drugs, guns and other things. It's not the payment method but the item. Everything with value such as oil, Gold, diamonds, paintings, drugs, weapons, etc, can function as a currency to finanace terrorism for example. What bothers me is that always when something minor happens with Bitcoin as point of attention (like a hacker asking for 10BTC ransom for example), the whole media seems to jump on it to show the outside world how bad and dangerous an internet currency as Bitcoin is. There are even times where the media is referring to Bitcoin as being the currency of the underworld. It just shows that they have an anti Bitcoin campaign running either sponsored by the government, or they are owned by the very elite that do depend on the current banking system. Nothing happens without a reason. |

Bitcoin transactions or activities cannot be tracked at all, no one can really know if the transaction we see is done by whom, that is what we call anonymity of bitcoin, if we could trace the person doing the transactions then it would not have been anonymous at all, and this as an advantage for a lot of people is being used in a bad way by some which we call illegal. |

We actually can blame people for thinking like how they are doing right now. Especially in the case of them so easily taking everything the media says for granted. It doesn't cost a lot effort to do some research yourself in order to know what Bitcoin is, and how it can be used to benefit them. But instead, they just assume Bitcoin is like the media is saying it is. SilkRoad can be seen as the very first successful merchant depending fully on Bitcoin. At the time I entered the world of Bitcoin, this didn't bother me at all. I didn't look at it as being a negative point. I looked at it as being a great example of how well Bitcoin is working as currency tool. What we should do, as bitcoin advocates, is that we promote bitcoin as a currency that can be used for our basic needs like groceries and pay our bills.
Yep. If people after that still don't see much added value in using Bitcoin, then you at least have tried it, and they know what Bitcoin is. When at some point they are ready for it, then they know where and what to look for. |

It's just that bitcoin has this feature called 'anomity' that makes it great for illegal activities. But we should not blame the currency itself for this.
