Bitcoin would be much better off if Netflix began accepting bitcoin. However I don't think that the bandwidth that Netflix uses will interfere with the bitcoin network any time soon.
The bandwidth used by bitcoin is much much smaller than netflex or other content providers. It will not be affected by rationing. |

I remember reading about integrating Bitcoin into torrents apps like Popcorn Time and similar so you can donate and support the creators. Doesn't have to be only films, just about anything. This will be a system of royalties where the artist just get a new way of revenue and somehow helps alleviating the damage done by piracy.

threaten?i dont think so,i wish netflix and youtube considering to accept or work with bitcoin,not be threat for bitcoin,and will be amazing if youtube pay people to upload video and pay them with bitcoin  |

it is always a growing contest out there. the bandwidth increase leads to bigger files, better qualities in case of videos and at the same time these bigger files would demand bigger bandwidth that is just the relationship that always existed but i still can't see how it can threaten bitcoin!

Maybe we should have 1Kb blocks to save the Internet. It should be the other way around. People should use less Youtube or Netflix to let Bitcoin go faster. |

This is bullshit man. Companies like AT&T received government subsidies to upgrade the nation's internet infrastructure. Instead, they kept it all and either went golfing or bought mortgage backed securities. US internet throughput is being gimped on purpose. It looks like someone put Blockstream in charge of the internet too.
As long as companies like Netflix and Youtube have financial interest upon the existence of a powerful bandwith structure, investments are going to keep flowing into this direction and hence there will be a growing capacity for the next years. Satoshi is a prophet. |

Unlikely, IF somebody finds a way to make a Bitcoin-only video service profitable. The question is whether we prefer the Youtube model (advertising) or the Netflix model (monthly subcription fees).

Not a bad subject because some internet provider are already making some content more available than other!
In Europe the problem won't happen as a law recently pass (at least in France but I think it's going to spread) stating that all internet content are equal. Which means any internet content has to be sent the same way than another. So they can't for example decide to let Netflix film going through while stopping Youtube video or btc tx =)

How can netflix be bigger than youtube i dont get it. You have to pay for netflix aswell dont you and youtube is free. Also i think this is only in the USA netflix not as popular worldwide, still popular though.
I think its because when you watch a tv show or movie its a full hour + When I watch youtube its just a few minutes at max (at least what I watch) Also I think cord cutting has become super popular so some people are using netflix as their only source of television along with a satellite to watch local channels (abc/nbc/fox/cw etc) |

I am also highly sure that it will not threaten bitcoin. The future is of bitcoin and for any issue or there problem there exist a solution or it is solved sooner by the experts. So, they will try to adjust according to bitcoin. |

If a plate like that came, and that site got fame like youtube and left back youtube and Netflix a few steps back, Then I think people will start to attract there, and this will give a huge harm to both of them. |
