Take the power of will and throw it simple. All the problems in your head. Turn to something useful. Grow avocado)
Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

I was so damn addicted with my phone..playing games and finally when it started screwing with my life I had decided to remove the games in my phone and now I am better of. It wasn't easy but the truth is I found bitcoin and this forum. Now, spend more time reading articles, take part in signature campaign and bounty hunting. They can at least bring me some income than wasting my time playing games. I do have some games, but I have better control over me at the moment Wink Smiley

Every single morning, I rush into the school because of my phone addiction. What really helped me is catching myself being stuck watching YouTube videos every night. The moment that I notice I'm starting to consume a lot of time watching videos that aren't actually helpful, I just stop using my phone. The problem with this is after a couple of minutes, you get the urge to use your phone again.

Quitting my phone addiction would be really efficient for me especially in terms of my time usage. Thanks for this article, OP.

Busy can help you to quit the smart phone addiction. When life gets hectic, I don't have time to play with my mobile phone. Maybe you can cultivate a hobby, or a movie. Of course, the best is that you have to learn to control yourself.

Yesterday I stepped out of my house to go play basketball, and I forgot to put my phone in my pocket. It felt so uncomfortable, and I thought that I should go back and get it. I didn't, but that uncomfortable feeling was pretty interesting. Something that was not there 15 years ago.

I use mine to check the weather and then go out riding a bike for regular exercise.
When i leave the door i disable WIFI / AND phone calls then turn on my MUSIC then i tuck it into my belt clip phone holder and when i come back home i power it off and put it away until i go out again.

I also started using "Battery Saver" mode on Android Marshmallow last month or so too..
It works great.. my Motorola phone battery is a year old *not* using battery saver mode ever once
and a full charge lasts me FOREVER !!!!
I always end up seeing people say they have to plug their phone in every night before bed.
I go weeks before thinking uhh well it's 40% i might as well..

When it comes to APP's i have checked out many but have little interest.
My phone is not quite good enough for large games like GTA and smaller games are lame.
Why play GTA with bad controls on a 4 inch screen and who wants to play Pokeman or angry birds ?
I sure as hell don't.

Most app's i have are for rooting or modding my phone etc.

I also avoid social media.. i don't want to hear about it.
If i want to see that bullshit i will load the web page on my desktop browser.

I got a Moto E 2015 just after it came out for $150 can. (paid in full)
It was a contract version phone and i signed up for a monthly cheap service contract.
Then cancelled it after a few months..
Now i seen it around town for under $80.. to buy it outright.

The Moto E 2015 is a cheap phone with no camera flash and the front camera has a BAD res.
But other than that for a $100 phone it has a shitload of awesome features.
It also is slim and compact and has slots for sim or scdard etc (got a 16gb for music / app's)
My phone is about half the width of all these "cool" people walking around with giant iPhone brick's.
Those iPhones with a case vs my phone with no case is laughable.. they literally look like bricks !

I keep it all trimmed down with nothing running so it's fast & snappy when i need it.
Right now i have a couple shortcuts for custom app's..
- Poweramp - I use this the most.
- 4G Switcher - This can toggle the Radio (phone calls) function On or Off.
- Google Keep Notes - For my grocery / todo list.
- Weather network  - So i can check for rain when i go riding my Mountain Bike.
- RootExplorer - in case i need to fiddle with things on my rooted phone.
- Swiftkey Custom Keyboard.

I put the FM radio on the other day on my home screen because of a planned power outage.
I was out of power for 8 hours and had an idea..
I took a speaker from my stereo then wired it up to my phone and ran the radio for about 6 hours.
It used less than 20% of my battery power !

It's obviously about what you use it for.
I had a Sansa Mp3 player before that i retired and now use the phone instead.
And your age to some extent.. more younger people need to text up a storm etc.
Teens are insecure and need to be surrounded by people and attention.
Being alone for an hour or two is enough for them to have a nervous breakdown.
So phones are usually tools to pet & stroke the ego of insecure kids.
Sorry but it's the truth..

So people who do not have a newer smart phone.. take my case as an example.
You can find all kinds of uses for them.. it's up to you !
You don't have to jerk off to social media bullshit.. i ignore and avoid that lame crap.

Brats these days are spoiled.
When i was a kid i had black & white TV's often to play 8bit Nintendo etc (or worse) Coleco etc
And i had a long wired cable on the giant TV remote which was premium deluxe tech back then.
A Microwave ? LOL puuuhlease i don't think so this wasn't Start Trek kids. LOL

My first PC game i played in grade 5 was a TRS-80 from Radio Shack that had the optional Tandy cassette deck that played video game tapes.. space invaders etc.

Kids.. fuck you.. you spoiled little shits LOL  Wink

don't forget to turn off your smart phones so you don't hear any tones from your phones. keep your smart phones into box and lock it for a day, and try to out of the house to do other activities.

I think this generation has become more dependent on mobile and smart devices that they tend to oversee the little things that make us truly alive. Like being able to interact with people around you, or appreciating nature and feeling thankful for another day. Technology definitely has its downside also Sad

I've had a similar experience when I made changes considering my facebook account, not deleting it but unfriending everyone and keeping 5-6 people that I'm really close to. I decreased the usage of fb to a few seconds at all... I rarely use my smart phone for anything hat phone calls or fb now, don't use it to look at the internet or smthn like that.

Need some spare btc for a new PC that can at least run Adobe Dreamweaver.

How I quit my smartphone addiction and really started living

http://www.theguardian.com/technology/2016/feb/11/smartphone-technology-addiction-facebook-twitter

<< I don't like being bothered or bossed around. I hated that anyone, for any reason, could interrupt my life, and I could interrupt my life just the same. >>

the first : don't connect your smartphone to internet if you always chat with your friends

the second : if the first step doesn't work, then deactivate your smartphone when you don't really need it and activate it when it's emergency only

if those steps don't work, then sell your smartphone and buy nokia phone that was famous in 2002.

You do know there's an off button on mobile phones, don't you? If you don't want to be bothered, you can just switch if off.

That's not the point. If she had the cellphone on airplane mode, it would only be a matter of time before she turns it off to look something up. And no it's not as easy as saying she doesn't have any will power. She also doesn't want to be bothered ever, so no point in having a phone on airplane mode.
I'm not talking cellphone on airplane mode but turn off you phone and if that ways not working well you can live on some place not on range your eyes.

Tho I usuall am usin my phone because this is my where I get my income fro sidelines, I am not that kind of person who always look at their phone even when someone is with them. It pisses me off when people are constantly usin their phone while I am with them ad I view is as  rudeness. How I wish everyone will know that it is not healthy.

A mobile phone is very convenient. I too without it has itself no idea. Who wants to transfer from the car to the horse?

Yes, it is very convenient and even useful within reasonable limits. I am very pleased with this progress of technology that allows you to make the world better.

Now even funny just to look at photos of the old phone. I can't understand how you can voluntarily give up modern technology. I don't use all the features of my smartphone, but the features that I use very making it any easier.
