Should Full Bitcoin Nodes Get Rewarded like Miners?

The Bitcoin network is a large operation, and many people do not understand what makes the engine run under the hood. Mining is a concept that takes a little bit longer for some to learn how miners confirm transactions, find blocks and secure the network. Another important, intricate part of the system is nodes. Miners processing transactions and keeping the blockchain going needs to be relayed by a network of nodes.

Definitely YES! If you look at how far Bitcoin has developed itself, and compare that to the amount of full nodes, then you'll get disappointed by the amount of full nodes. People won't leave the their client open if they have no interest in supporting the network, but if you reward them once a day, then look how fast we will see the amount of full nodes double from current count.

I also say YES, because the person running the node has expenses to pay for hosting the full node. The downloaded software and the bandwidth from

running that and also the storage space and electricity it use, if you leave it 24/7. This has been a hot topic for years now, and people cannot see the

need for that. If you live in a country with limited resources and expensive internet costs, this is definitely a barrier to entry and a huge expense.  Sad

Yes. There node owners have to spend money and verify the blocks. They should be rewarded like the miners.

I would like to see that if it's technically possible. But nodes can be faked and I'm not sure if this could be abused.Something like proof of existence or so would be needed.
However everyone contributing with a real full node to the network being rewarded would be awesome.

We saw that, when people hosted Virtual machines to bump the XT node count. We have enough talented developers out there, who can code some proof of existence into the code and make this work. These people doing this should be rewarded in my opinion.

I ran one for a while, but my computer came under DoSS attacks, and I had to take it down.

Exactly, too easy to game the system. Besides, if someone can't work out how running a full node benefits you, it's their loss.

Is bitcoin.com really only on the web to recycle topics that bitcointalk finished with literally years ago?
