I don't think that will happen anytime soon, there are allot of people buying BTC currently and these people won't just go away. If a better currency appear then it will simply overtake BTC and people will just move there.. I don't think that will happen anytime soon though.

It will require years and years of developers and lots of innovation to take over bitcoin. Something would have to start innovating faster than bitcoin in order for it to catch bitcoin and then continue to push the boundaries once bitcoin was finally caught for people to start adopting said altcoin over bitcoin.

Bitcoin is still being developed actively. in 15 years, it will be totally different from the one we know.

I don't think that will happen in the near future, BTC just started to get ground and people are yet to understand it so understanding it and using it and then coming with something better than it "and for people to understand it from the beginning" would need allot of time.

When will Bitcoin become obsolete?

This question reminds on the internal combustion engine. When will become obsolete? It has been obsoleted decades ago, but still a majority population is using it. So, I cant really answer your poll question. Don't know.

Maybe or maybe not, cannot predict anything at a moment, as not sure what would be the future of bitcoins, either it will be a global currency or just a currency, but I don't  see it totally disappearing, it will survive.

First of all wait for it to be all mined. Then this question should arise. Not sooner.

When any new and better currency then bitcoin will take birth at that time bitcoin will become totally obsolete with no value, but it is difficult that any other new crypto can replace bitcoin sooner or latter, bitcoin will survive.

I think bitcoin will survive a long time if it is developed actively and it is not controlled by a small group of people.

bitcoin will not become obsolete. technology continues to advance, and bitcoin is supported by the progress of time, unless the technology suffered a setback, certainly bitcoin will become obsolete

Yes bitcoin has a great potential to grow and it will keep on growing in future, we just need to have patience and faith in bitcoins, and I don't see bitcoin going anywhere, it will survive for a long time.

Regular people are refused to use Bitcoin or doesn't understand why it's important except for criminals and speculators.
Transaction times are too slow... The list goes on. Everybody I know already know what Bitcoin is but they are not
interested.
So it's a matter of time when central bank(s), government(s) or bank(s) create their own crypto currencies and block chain
based services more advanced than Bitcoin. Same happened with the internet: In the beginning it was free stuff and
small open source projects, now it's completely dominated by few huge companies who collect all the revenues (Google,
Facebook, etc)

So when this will happen to block chain and Bitcoin will become obsolete?

(Please no delusional believers "Bitcoin will replace fiat" type of nonsense comments)
have been 7 years since bitcoin founded, and so far bitcoin its okay, just the price and some accident make people little worry, but i dont know about 10 years later, lets wait and see,and i hope  still alive Smiley

I don't think that bitcoin goes obsolete. Now only the users are getting increased and the adaption is still continuing than its earlier days. So based on its growth and growing technology it won't go out. Only possibility if the governments issue some orders against using this will sometimes makes it obsolete

Government cannot control bitcoins, so the government involvement won't make any difference to the people who are using bitcoins, the people who are into it will continue to use bitcoins.

not at the moment. but look at what-s happening in Europe. the government is starting to try and control it. and it's not looking good.

If the governments can control over 50% of the nodes and miners, it can control it. But it is quite difficult for it to do.
