everytime I try to start bitcoin 3.13 I get an error message "Error loading blkindex.dat"  I am running XP
How do I fix this?  It was running fine then I rebooted the computer and now I keep getting this error.

I tried to uninstall the program and reinstall it but same message.  Evidentally bitcoin puts
a config file on your computer that doesn't get removed when the program is uninstalled

Try to remove all files except wallet.dat from %APPDATA%\Bitcoin directory.

Based on my experience tonight, you don't need to delete the database directory (or any files in it)

Ha, i found the solution

open "start" "run" then type cmd

copy & paste "   %APPDATA%\BitCoin   "

also descriibed in:
https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Securing_your_wallet#Windows
https://de.bitcoin.it/wiki/Sichere_deine_Geldb%C3%B6rse#Windows

also I think you just need to delete blkindex.dat

CHEERS,
Jan
