Nov 9th Terracoin Update - DonationsThis week I wanted to focus on the donations concept for Terracoin.
I wrote about it briefly in the last weekly but I have been getting a lot of questions about it.
The Terracoin Foundation is dedicated to helping the world while we maintain and improve Terracoin.
How we will do this is by accepting Terracoin donations to the Donations for the World TRC address (1BQH6gBzkxxyMQG3VSJCHnmVGfWu64nbPL). We already have 80,000 TRC to be donated in 20,000 chunks to community picked non-profits. These coins are from before the hard fork so they are allocated differently then new coins donated to that address.
New coins donated to that address will be turned into masternodes and once TRC hits $1 we will start donating to community picked non-profits. These non-profits will be large controversy free non-profits that are helping the world. As Terracoin and the Terracoin Foundation grows we want to staff The Terracoin Foundation with volunteers and actually take half of the net profits from the masternodes and do the non-profit work ourselves. This will cut out the middle man and with our public ledger and blockchain, we can show where all expenses go. This will be revolutionary in the non-profit world and it will be an amazing opportunity for Terracoin to show the world we truly want to make Earth a better place. The other half of the net profits will be turned into more masternodes to continue to grow the foundation.
To help with this step please donate to the Donations for the World TRC address. We currently have 7 masternodes run by the TRC Foundation and you can check on them any time with this link. We have received enough donations to add another 2 TRC Foundation masternodes and once we have solved our Woot hosting issue they will be set up.
So what about your local non-profit, or your favorite non-profit that isn't controversy free? You can put in a proposal for that! You need to own a masternode and you should probably test the waters to see if people will vote yes on your proposal. Otherwise you might waste 10 TRC for a proposal no one is interested in. Here is the link on how to put in a proposal.
I imagine people will be more willing to vote on the proposal if there is a marketing angle as well.
The last way you can help is if you have a Kiva.org account. We have a team on there, which is here. We currently only have a couple of people on the team, but the more people on the team and the more "loans" we give out the more we help the world while also showing a nice Terracoin presence.

One more thing.
We have decided to start taking suggestions for the next altcoin tested innovation we want to add to Terracoin.
I like Atomic Swap or maybe Viacoin's Clearinghouse. Please post your suggestions, ideas, and comments all over. Our own innovations (application layer!) will come eventually but we need to keep up with current tech.
