I think you will be fine with that transaction. My desktop wallet takes a long time to sync as well.

Go here http://vergecurrency.de/ and get the latest blockchain. Helps a lot to manually download over having the client update the blockchain.

how did you get a wallet address from the desktop wallet if you cant open?

Humpi and Dogedarkdev thanks for the replies. I will definitely look into vergecurrency.de tonight.

I can open the wallet, it just won't sync. But it at least shows me what my address is.

Just got the desktop wallet fully sync'd and looking to move my web wallet funds over. is there somewhere I can find my private keys on the desktop wallet? or even if there's a way I can see my private keys on the web wallet (or is this more like other web wallets where the private keys are stored with the owner of the site?)

thanks!

Also just listened to the interview, you absolutely killed it. gave great examples of why certain anon features should take priority over others, especially when it comes to mainstream adoption. great job dude.

you can go into help/debug console, and type exportprivkey publicaddress
(publicaddress is where you put the address that you want the privkey to)
and the private key to that address will show up =]

hmm I'm getting "Method not found (code -32601)" though I've tried a few variations. is it literally "exportprivkey (insert public address)" ?

i dont know why i said export. its dumpprivkey publicaddress

sorry about that.

No worries, got it figured out. finally got the blocks all synced up. though sometimes opening the desktop wallet takes quite some time (5-10 minutes) on the getting block phase. and sometimes crashes/unresponsive. this is windows 10. is there any settings I should be adjusting to make it more consistent?

There are many 'download wallet' options but i guess windows versions are not compatible with windows xp sp 3 32bit . This OS is still widely used around the world even if it's old.
Anyways i saw an online wallet version to http://verge-wallet.xyz/. I understand that your crypto is new and might not have financial resources but you know that an antivirus (i think bitdefender, not sure) is blocking .xyz domains access from a computer browser ? Still .xyz domains are not very trusted (blacklisted) so i suggest you to research the problem and when you have resources or in time when you grow to move to a trusted domain such as .net or .org or .info or anything you like.

any chance the supply will get a cut in the future, i think what is holding back this wonderful coin, is the immense supply, if it can be reduced to million instead of billion would be better imho, i know it require a hard fork but its worth the risk

First I want to say our Dev Team is doing a Top Notch Job - keep it up!

Your suggestion needs to be analyzed.  At this point the space has gone into "Hyperspeed" and we need dramatic and intentional moves.  "Coin Reduction" would be a BIG MOVE; raising scarcity would increase value.

I would add that adding PoS immediately would be of great benefit as well.  It's hard to park your cash in a coin that doesn't pay dividends for holding while almost all other coins that share our objectives are providing STAKING incentives.  For the holder Staking represents some assurity during the inevitable "Pumps and Dumps" plus it provides a double incentive of value:  The rise in coin value (XVG $1.00) + the Staking Dividend.  For Hardware Miners it becomes a triple incentive if they choose to hold what they mine.

This is definitely a race, so reminiscent of 1999 with another emerging technology at that time.  I know by these suggestions we're asking a lot from the Devs but I strongly feel we have a strong community willing and able to support our Team in whatever is necessary.

So, Coin Reduction + PoS = Rise in Coin Value

Btw, Coin Reduction becomes very meaningful when RSK is implemented.

This is not technical but was it a Dump if someone bought?  Or was it a smart move on the buyers part?

what is happening to verge these days? why has it continued dropping for some weeks?
I have high speculation to verge. I hope verge can be adapted in dark market. Is verge going to that direction?
