Tried to install the latest version from github after removing the old version and it errored out.

System specs:
Ubuntu 16.04.03 64 bit.
Dual Xeon E5-2667 V3 cpu's
64 gigs of ram

Followed this:

"Compiling Linux Wallet on Ubuntu/Debian

Step 1. Install the dependencies.

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:bitcoin/bitcoin

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install libdb4.8-dev libdb4.8++-dev build-essential libtool autotools-dev automake pkg-config libssl-dev libevent-dev bsdmainutils git libboost-all-dev libminiupnpc-dev libqt5gui5 libqt5core5a libqt5webkit5-dev libqt5dbus5 qttools5-dev qttools5-dev-tools libprotobuf-dev protobuf-compiler libqrencode-dev

Note: If you are on debian, you will also need to apt-get install libcanberra-gtk-module.

Step 2. Clone the git repository and compile the daemon and gui wallet:

git clone https://github.com/vergecurrency/verge && cd verge && ./autogen.sh && ./configure && make

Note: If you get a "memory exhausted" error, make a swap file. (https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/how-to-add-swap-space-on-ubuntu-16-04)"

What is best way to buy now, since in august bitcoin was low , now if i buy btc first and then buy this coin it will be lot more, can we use any other coin other than btc to buy verge

do we still need to use btc to buy or can we use any other alt coin at bittterex platform to buy?

Just had the best wallet mishap I have ever experienced.

I downloaded the Electrum Verge wallet and created an address so I could cold pull my Verge from an exchange and store it cold so I don't get tempted to sell it in the upcoming surge, well the wallet was not connecting and I tinkered around with it for a bit trying to understand what was going on but could not get it to connect - SOOOO I backed up all the files on in a new folder and went to https://vergecurrency.com/ and downloaded the wallet again, and holyyy X-mas - my coins were in my wallet as soon as I opened it.

Test complete.

Now to send the rest of my Verge to my X-Mas wallet hoping for the snapshot I hear rumor's about that I hope is real.

Help me please to start mine solo.
I was download qt-wallet 3.0 and fully syncronized.
Put in C:\Users\admin\AppData\Roaming\VERGE\VERGE.conf:

rpcuser=user
rpcpassword=x
rpcallowip=192.168.1.*

daemon=1
algo=x17
gen=1

and start bat from localhost:
ccminer.exe -i 20 -a x17 -o http://192.168.1.11:20102 -u user -p x

It's ok, and start mining local, but when i try start another rig, i get error message: connection reset, empty data....
What's wrong?

I had transferred in some monero/XMR because I haven't been on Bittrex in years and just forgot how to actually trade coins.lol Then I sold the XMR in bittrex for BTC Then I used the BTC balance to pick up some $XVG. I actually should have waited an hour or two because it was around 1535-1540 sat so I jumped in at 1550 per coin then all of a sudden it was trading at 1413-1414. Looking right now it's going up again around 1485. 24hr high was 1845 so i still saved quite a bit. It's funny I thought my XMR was stuck in there because of the transaction fees but luckily I stumbled upon some XVG so I was able to withdraw as the fees worked for me:) It's like 0.2 XVG which surely beats 0.04 XMR.

I've tried these:

1. verge-3.0.zip - After I run it, it has 0 connections to Verge network (even after 1 hour)
2. electrum-xvg-win-amd64.zip (latest version from official website) - After I created new wallet and wrote down those 8 words, I've got a message box saing "You are offline".

I have direct connection to internet (no proxy), all ports opened, I've disabled firewall and antivirus, but still no success.

What can I do with that?

And another question - is there any hardware wallet that supports verge?

Expect price of Verge going back to 500-700 Satoshis.

Do what you feel right, to me honestly there are 4 major projects similar to Verge that are already successful and to be honest there is no space for the 5th.

I think.VERGE is doing  well,look at the chart ,not for one day but for a week than it is going up .

A problem is that not all people are on a exchange,I’am buying at litebit and  they are almost always sold out.
