Looking at our transaction log and the block explorer there seems to be a weird issue.  It looks like when we send any transaction the wallet sends the entire balance and the remaining coins disappear.  Any idea on what the issue could be?

Example.

https://verge-blockchain.info/tx/2c0e73788d444861d980f7d3431273460b17295cfdea9a19da0bfb556aa4de83

All coins are sent every time. That is how crypto works. What you don't send and pay for fees comes back to your wallet in a change address.

Buy a Trezor and Protect your BTC, BCH, BTG, DASH, LTC, DGB, ZEC, ETH and ETC from hackers.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

Where did you download the wallet from? If not from the official github it is possible you downloaded a compromised wallet that is sending away your coins to never return. This is a common scam that is from downloading from sites other than the official ones.

I’m a very big fan of Verge. In Verge we trust.

I was alike you a week ago and trusted in Verge but now... Maybe I'm too skeptical but something tell me it's something wrong with Verge and its devs promises...

Nothing wrong with XVG, devs are working, Verge is rising day by day. Ups & Downs will be there with every Cryptocurrency...... Smiley
I don't know why many people does not believe in XVG, I think it has demonstrated that is an strong coin Do not loose your faith this coin will be huge  Wink

ppl trying to affect the value/price.   some are subtle, some arent. Smiley

Yes you can clearly see whales trying to make good money out XVG but sometimes they loose control and the coin go up and they loose some money !

its not whales.  its smaller ppl most often.  thats the funny part.

'whales' dont need to post Neg/pos.

Most people here probably don't even know what a real whale's net worth in crypto is. We are not talking about people with a million dollars. Given the overall market cap of crypto, a whale is probably worth $100 million at the very least.

not a whale, more like Bitcoin stablized.

when it dropped and all coins drop...   the crying began in every coins thread lol.

Mostly all the fresh blood in crypto brought in by the promise of huge profits in the digital gold rush. Many of them don't understand how the market works, or how volatile it is. That is why it's important to only invest what you can afford to lose.

Almost at 500 pages!

Yes but I still think that there is an overwhelming amount of people still not involved with crypto. They might push the market even further in 2018. However, the number of projects to pick from will also grow exponentially so it's uncertain how much projects will benefit from fresh money individually. It's definitely good to be among the top cryptos on CMC.

I like your point. I'm hearing that more money will be "coming into crypto" this year from institutions and private citizens. But as you point out, that money will be distributed over many projects, most of which are not really cryptocurrencies but illegal securities. These coins will be unusable for real purchases until the prices stabilize, but the prices may never stabilize. There are many reasons to doubt crypto, but the allure of huge gains will continue drawing people in - just like with Madoff!

I doubt that regulators go for the harsh route and declare all those projects to be selling illegal securities. Tokenization will be a major aspect of over globalization, much like was the case with commodification and financialization. Tokenization won't go away, but it will bring about bad products as was the case with MBS in 2006/07. There will, however, be great products as well and those might fundamentally change the world's economic and societal infrastructure. Let's see what role XVG can play here! Wink

Compiled directly from GitHub.  Maybe a glitch in the one i downloaded?

Check the blockchain. Where did the coins go? If they did not go anywhere and not returned as change then all the coins were consumed as fees.

(I think) I understand the concept of Whales but aren't these whales aiming for a price raise of a coin they bought.
If so what are they waiting for ?

Is there anyone alive ??
By mail, the developers have not answered for several days already!

Coin scam?

And here is a good example of someone trying to affect the market with BS.

(lesson 1:  Don't fall for such crappy and obvious techniques)

   how can you tell?

  some ways:

Person is saying something that could be true.   (dev's not responding)
its something that you cant check on. (that person could have not send any mail, sent to wrong address)

Question for yourself...   why would the person mail the dev.   is it a stupid question?    I wouldnt respond either.
is it the same question over and over....

is that persons mail going into the spam folder?

Or... omgosh, maybe the dev's are busy.

100's of reasons.   so Do not fall for it.

if they come in and post a problem they had, the community has a first crack at answering...

then a dev might fix/correct etc.

that all make Common sense?

oh and then they end up with a super negative.

(like a 4yr old, stomping their feet since they didnt get attention...   means they probably didnt even try to contact anyone.  (or they are that bad at social skills))

----------------

Why is it called Common sense....its not all that common to find.

Yeah .... the coin is the second year!
What there developers can be occupied, if everything is already done?
The question I have for them is serious and important .... but if the whole team has no one to answer at least something or to ask to wait at least .... then what can you say about them?

Will there be an updated Android TOR Wallet? Looks like the current one is from September 2017, I guess it won't support the hard fork?

If I have coins on it, should I transfer to the 4.0 Windows wallet?

Anybody got infos about the Tor Android Wallet?

Passion.

That they are diligent.   if its so serious and important, have you asked in the forum yet?

and ofc its not already done.  they just released new stuff, and have to redo several things to fit the new tech.
and the Electrum stuff just had an issue, they would have to incorporate that as well.

Saying everything is done, again shows me something.

its like saying an exchange service never has to update their wallets...

or RL stuff: I shoveled the snow off my sidewalk... so i never have to do it again.

 Wink

I would imagine they get 100's of Posts/emails/pm's a day.
(have you gone into the IRC/discord/ etc rooms and tried to comminicate there)
Probably more likely to get a response, if its legit.

PS.   (or is it a Side note?)   you still play Virtonomics?  i havent logged on in awhile, found 2 other games that i got hooked on that were based on the same game Virt was.

all fun Smiley

I have a load of xvg sat on an exchange. Can I leave them there whilst the hard fork goes ahead, I have little desire to mess about trying to sort a working wallet on OSX.

Depending on the exchange, they SHOULD be ok.

(IE: big exchanges will support the updated wallet...  your coins will be updated with them )

its the smaller exchanges taht might be a problem.  ie: if they decide to not update the wallet.
(and those, hopefully would tell you that they arent, and to remove your coins asap)

thats the risk.  that the exchange wont update. (with any coin)

I moved most of Verge to paper wallets. Since they are not 'working wallets', you will have to
import keys into a hot wallet in order to send or sell at some point. Paper wallet link is on
website. My eyes had trouble with the font difference between the B and 8 and S and 5, also
the small 'i' has a tail that can make it look like an L. I followed security advice and bought a
new laptop and printer that have never been connected to the internet to do this. Have made
enough with Verge to afford it! Go Verge!

ijf you go with a paper wallet, you can DL the Generator
go OFFLINE and then generate your address, PRINT it.

Then transfer funds to that address.

    paper wallets dont need updated.

after the hard fork, and you want to spend again

you have to IMPORT the priv keys.

(directions are easily found for that)
