I think that is a very aggressive prediction, but I would not say it's unrealistic though, we can have that massive increase of adoption because bitcoin is getting popular day by day. This year it is a very progressive year for bitcoin itself because it has substantially increase more than 100% and I think this will continue and we can see a good price at the end of the year. The price alone is not the main basis of adoption because there are whales who own a big volume of bitcoins but it's obvious that as bitcoin is getting more popular more people are interested and eventually adopted with the system.

I think the realistic target for this which is 3 years from now is about 20% of the world's population and that depends on two things for me, the legality of it in the developed countries and secondly the number of businesses that is willing to accept Bitcoin as a mode of payment. It would mean 35 million users with only 200 million transactions in the blochain.

Even at max capacity the blockchain will be able to handle only 100 million transactions per year..
That's at max 300 million new users each with one tx.

I'd be happy if the number of people using bitcoin for three years will increase to 5-10 percent. Probably those who speak about 20-30 percent too optimistic. And anyway who knows what the number of bitcoins in the hands of the whales. Maybe all the bitcoins all in the hands of a few people in the world.

What is certain is the number of adopters are increasing but we cannot really tell what the exact number of users and I don't think for a small trader like me the exact number is still necessary. The increase of users makes me alive already, I am getting more confident in holding longer because I believe the demand will increase in the future which would result to a profitable journey.

I think 5-10 or even less. Don`t forget that we have elderly people and a lot of people who cant handle computer. Than it also goes from financial part. About 50% of people all over the world lives on a really small salary, so they are not able to invest something and not every one is intrested in bitcoin

Agree. Even though I would love to see 5%+ adoption, I think realistically will be somewhere in the 2-4% range by 2020. Currently in 2017, I would guess we are somewhere in the 0.5% range of global population.
